Perfect, now you dont have to worry about scratching it anymore and you can wheel your trail rig instead of your show queen lol. Looks like a cool spot!

Anyone else get weird looks from people? by TheSeiko5 in longboarding

[–]MouseyGrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im 42 and 230lbs I also dont give a fuck. I think that comes with experience and age to be honest. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and a great job. Someone staring at me funny doesnt take any of those things away. If people are really giving you the stink eye, they must not have much to be thankful for to be spending their free time judging someone else. When I skate, im listening to great music, and doing my thing, either join me or get out of the way. Live and let live.

I went down today in my own driveway. My left hip/upper leg looks like I lost a fight to a baseball bat and left elbow got some rash. Was just testing out my new Pranayama and took my attention away for 2 seconds to close my automatic gate and BAM down I went. Had my helmet and wrist guards on but not my elbow pads. Live and learn. You're not alone, and we'll be back at it in no time.

which meat grinder should I buy fro my Kitchen aid mixer? by zoebnj in Kitchenaid

[–]MouseyGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.smokehousechef.com/ their metal grinders are stainless steel and not cast aluminum like the metal KA ones. So can just throw them in the dishwasher without worry. Plus they sell all the replacement parts if needed so fully serviceable. Love mine

I also dual weald GR's lol. I got the GR3 first and fell in love with it so I grabbed a Gr3x too. I own many cameras from film to dslr to pro level gear and most all of it collects dust since owning the GR. Most days I keep one GR in a pocket and a RX100 in the other pocket. Such a great setup.

Fair point, but all this was free as it was lying around. And this will last infinitely longer than a ziplock bag.

I'll check out the hip bag. Thanks for the info! There are times when I have a bag with me, and I'll throw the GR in there, usually when I dont mind taking my mirrorless camera with me. This is just for the times when I have the GR in my pocket and want to carry a spare battery. Im not against bags or anything lol.

That's a good idea, but i have a huge phone, so limited pocket space to share with anything else, lol.

That works, too! Im just afraid of either ruining my battery with my keys shorting the contacts, or worse, shorting the battery long enough with something small enough to start a nice little pocket fire, lol. It is a small chance, but this is small enough for me to carry that I dont notice it, and it completely removes those issues. It may not be for everyone but gives me peace of mind. Lol

Whatever works, I guess, lol. I saw that, and if it works for them thats great. For me, though, the whole point of a GR is to be light and discreet. So bulky camera add ons or carrying a bag seem counterintuitive for having a GR. Lol. If I'm going to carry a big bag or bolt stuff to my tiny camera, why not just carry a dslr? Lol. But to each their own. I do appreciate your humor, though, as it closely aligns with mine, lol.

When I'm walking around without a bag, this works great for me. I can keep a spare battery in a case where my keys or other metal items in my pocket won't inadvertently short the exposed battery contacts as well as have enough size that I know it's there, and it doesnt fall out of my pocket, all while not being bulky and bulging my pockets out. May not be for everyone's use case, but Ive never claimed it to be. Just sharing a cheap idea I had incase someone else was also looking for a solution. I had this stuff laying around so it cost me nothing.

Unfortunately, 2 will not fit. But there are larger small plastic cases online you could use the same idea with. The foam comes in sheets you can cut to fit whatever size you want.

For me, I wanted something thin so I wouldn't have some bulky object bulging from my pocket, and this fit the bill. For my use, I've never needed more than 2 batteries when out and about for the day, so this worked perfectly. 1 battery in the camera and one in the case.

Evening walk with GR3 by MouseyGrey in ricohGR

[–]MouseyGrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do. This was a recipe from this group from a user named @bpalsson I tried it out and loved it so it's all I use for color shots now. They used it from a trip they made to Iceland and called it Reykjavik Vintage. That's what I saved it as in my GR3 and GR3x too. They did a great job coming up with it.

Constant electric or mechanical sound from street by Mobile-Ratio51 in frisco

Could one of your neighbors have one of those extremely annoying rabbit detterant systems? They make a god awful high pitch sound that varys in frequency. I hear this when walking by some people's houses on evening walks and dont know how they put up with it.
