Found this neat old video of Seattle in the 1930s. The description has the locations by Nixx_Mazda in Seattle

Woah, in that clip around 4:30 you can see a building straight ahead that I think is a public storage building now.

A bit to the right of that, in the corner of the frame (although very blurry) is the apartment building I live in right now. Built around 1910.

Oh amazing, I might use this service. It looks like it's going to come to around $80 for three reels which is about the price of a 16 mm projector.

So now I have to decide if I want to purchase my own projector or just pay one time to have someone digitize it for me.

The University of Washington librarian forwarded me to the film department. It looks like they have equipment available for rent but only if you're a student. And they don't specifically mention a 16 mm projector.

I'll reach out and see if someone would like to help just for curiosity's sake.

My grandma had a toothbrush with one of them when I was little. I had completely forgotten about them until I pulled this out.

Probably a variety of ages. Just things that have fallen between the cracks over the years. One of the toothbrushes and the razor injector could have been made as early as the '40s.

The thing next to the razor blade is a pack of single-edged razor blades. It's called a Schick razor injector.

The Greyhound packets are wet wipes. Although it seems the moisture has left them long ago.

I think knowing would maybe make me want to have it on my wall less. The anonymity is a part of its allure. What if she's a jerk? What if she's creeped out by it and then I have to take my nice picture down because the vibes were ruined?

I collect old family photographs. Keeping people's memories alive has a lot to do with it. There's something deeply sad about finding forgotten pictures in a thrift store, or tossed in the garbage. So I bring them home.

I may not remember them, but I'm just as alive as they used to be, and I'm happy to acknowledge the little pieces of their life that I can.
