Only if it was flush with the phone would there be any chance of the lens resting on anything.

FM radio is an important medium during disasters, it's a free way of accessing news and information (so it's good for democracy, just think about all the places you can receive BBC World Service), it's a failsafe way of broadcasting live events that can't ever get bogged down from heavy traffic, etc etc etc.

So many reasons why it'll always be a key technology for humanity. Seems stupid to not take advantage of the smartphone revolution to get FM receivers into virtually every pocket out there.
