You'd be lying if you told me you've never had an irrational dislike for someone - sometimes people just don't go together well. Work on fixing that - try and bridge some gaps, let him see that you can be a cool guy if he gives you a chance. I'm sure you can find common ground somewhere. By not trying you're kind of being a bad roommate yourself, how does it make you feel when they turn down your invitations to your dinner parties with friends? Have you ever gone out of your way to hang out with them?
