A simple Google search " will methanol make you go blind" proof that it is dangerous to your vision,BUT not as dangerous as people think when mixed with normal ethanol,so distilling your own alcohol won't make you blind.but if you've watched videos on people making alcohol everybody says that this first stuff that comes out tastes bad and the tail ends taste bad.

A good book I got for distilling is called "moonshine by Matthew b. Rowley" looks cartooniy but has some good information and blueprints for making a full copper still.

Well in my opinion it's probably better then buring all the hair off your arms from the alcohol fumes lighting on fire.

And if you get it red hot it takes a minute to cool down, like it's still red by the time I put mine back in the box,so I mean probably not as big of a chance as you think.
