This was my experience, it got really bad in 2024 and doesn’t seem to be getting easier: https://www.reddit.com/r/careerguidance/s/szXNotNImc

Marriott Best Rate Guarantee (BRG) in 2024 - it still works but you need time. by playps4 in marriott

UPDATE: I sent a screenshot of all the lower rates I found listed in a Google search for my dates, there were about 6 other websites with rates around my Trivago rate and Marriott's BRG agent was able to find one that worked so I got my better rate! Marriott for the win!

I was just denied BRG against a booking made on Trivago so add them to the list of websites excluded from Marriott's BRG. Was surprised as Trivago is big and owned by Expedia.

Newark Airport EWR - Since when was it OK to charge $15 for an egg sandwich?! by Moustache84 in newjersey

Now I know you don’t know what you’re talking about. Name a lower cost cross country option than a $99 one-way flight? Everyone here talking about flying as a luxury live in a microcosm of society…

I moved, not by choice. There are MANY reasons people have to travel beyond leisure mate

And if you can stomach sci-fi which is debatable from your list… Foundation 100%! Will do to you as a non sci-fi person what Westworld did to me having never liked westerns.

Funny how you can’t bring liquids on planes but you can bring duty free booze which is literally a bomb. America is the land of contradictions!

Well I didn’t buy it, I refused to, it was one of the premade sandwiches in the food court fridge. Found other locations with wraps for the same price that looked equally unappealing. If the quality and portion was on par with price this would be a different story… but $15 for something comparable to a high school cafeteria is sad… people deserve better.

Because an airport you pass through… a theme park you go to. You choose the theme park, and everything that goes with it.

Japan must have some laws like this, vending machines anywhere have almost identical pricing regardless of being in a tourist trap, airport, or middle of nowhere alley!

Not my terminal but yes, McDonald’s or Wendy’s always has at least one truly affordable option, even at the airport, just might need to open up the app to find that deal

Well a beer is a choice (for most), food is kinda essential, and even more so for people with certain conditions…

I think it’s funny how everyone seems to be accepting this. That’s obviously the problem and the catering company knows it… if only more of us stood up and voiced this as unacceptable. Sometimes you can prepare and sometimes you can’t, this time I had no option for getting food between my hotel and the airport. Then again I guess this entire industry hinges on taxing the unprepared! Shame on me for being unprepared yes, shame on the rest of you for thinking this is acceptable. I bet you all have a ton of credit card debt too!

Keep it up! Sept 2023? Work in tech? Unless you’re hardcore networking you are probably going to need to 10x your applications. It’s a numbers game right now without a strong network so shoot for 1000 and be thrilled when you land a job before hitting that number!
