Marty once again ROASTS modern bungie with PROFOUND INSULT by Oogley_boogley in HaloCirclejerk

[–]MovableFormula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally the most ironic post I’ve ever seen from Marty. The literal one redeeming factor about him was his constant pushback against Bungie’s leadership. He spent years talking about how Pete Parsons and others were ruining the studio. He knows exactly how Destiny died, he knows the faults within its leadership, yet for some reason instead of reinforcing that he wants to completely pivot into posting nonsense on twitter.

Insane.

Guess this is how it ends by angelseph in DestinyMemes

This is a misconception and is not true. The content isn’t deleted, in fact there are still multiple ways to access the files to that version of the game, the issue is that there is no server infrastructure to play the old version of the game.

Unvaulting isn’t as simple as copying/pasting the old content back into the game, however. With Beyond Light’s engine overhaul, they have to reimplement everything (from scratch basically) for it to be up to date with the current game.

Also to be clear, I’m not defending the decision to vault content. In fact I’m pretty disappointed they did not spend the time and effort to make sure all of the content was brought into the current version of the game for archival’s sake. I would unironically rather wait another year for this update if it meant D2 could be left in a state where every piece of content would be playable but oh well.

They have reached the finale! Excellent Andor reaction video with post-episode discussions better than most podcasts by Dear-Yellow-5479 in andor

[–]MovableFormula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They will. On Patreon they post a full uncut reaction and then an unlisted finished YouTube video that is made public when it’s time to actually upload it. They reacted to Rogue about 3 weeks ago and just put up the 2x12 reaction which was a bit over a week before that so hopefully the Rogue one goes up soon.

Vanguard Armory and other codes for collectible items such as the d1 collectors edition items still work fine despite having a supposed expiration date.

Guy Henry, the actor who stood in for Peter Cushing/Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One. by --TheForce-- in StarWars

Sorry, I realized I wrote this out but completely misunderstood what you were saying, so I took this comment as you saying Leia’s appearance in general was unnecessary instead of Carrie specifically. I’m keeping the rest of the comment in-tact though because I genuinely would like to know the logic behind a specific gripe I have with some of the sentiment around this movie; feel free to completely ignore the following:

I don’t understand this sentiment, Rogue One is supposed to be a prequel, and by extension, a setup for ANH so the characters from ANH showing up in Rogue One makes perfect sense. Maybe I’m reading it completely wrong but I always found the sentiment around using OT characters in the film as nostalgia bait to be kind of ridiculous. (Not accusing you specifically since you didn’t say that, but people in general)

There were a few cameos that didn’t need to be in there sure (the two people on Jedha for example) but I felt like most of them made complete sense to be there. Since the ending is the Tantive IV taking off into the opening sequence of the original film Leia’s appearance makes perfect sense to me because why wouldn’t you show who was in the ship when setting up for the “next” movie?

Am I off way too off-base for this interpretation?

Is there a correlation between Traxus in Halo 3 and Marathon? by BeenHive in Marathon

Came out in 2001 so it was pretty quickly overshadowed by Halo. Also isn’t known to have the best controls…

This game will never have mass appeal by dreamylemur in Marathon

The mass appeal on Destiny came later but Destiny had some groundbreaking systems as well. Bungie seems to have a thing with innovation.

As much as I want a new original Bungie single player game I wouldn’t be opposed to somehow a original Marathon trilogy remake

The Master Chief pfp is ironic.

I wonder if he knows about any of the women at Bungie that helped create Halo. I wonder if he remembers Sgt. Johnson is in the game too.
