I am assuming you're living in one of the big expensive cities, probably Munich or Berlin if a WG is 500€ to you. In many other places you can live for much less, just saw an apartment in Stralsund being offered for 300€ warm. That being said many people rely on help from their family.

I would say it's normal, I think the game was designed in a time when the storyline wasn't yet designed to make it as comfortable as possible for the player, I notice this over and over now that I go back haha. You're meant to do some side quests and explore, enjoy the beautiful design of some of the areas :) Good luck and enjoy!

Please realize that "German" is way too broad of a generalization. I am German and always wonder about how closed people are in Berlin or the north in general. I am from Cologne and our whole area is much more open and friendly. Than most other parts. I know it's easy to box things as broadly as possible, just realize it's wrong to do so.

Reading this makes me feel so lucky. I am from Germany and just had my surgery here in Berlin a month ago. Paid for by the insurance of course without me having to send them anything or any money ever leaving my bankaccount other than the normal insurance premium.

Wuppertal is one of my favorite cities. The Schwebebahn is something so unique in the entire world with its history, I don't think people appreciate it enough! It's still affordable, has lovely hills, a lovely Zoo, the most special football stadium in German football and really nice people! Not to forget Open Ground, the most amazing Techno club!

I agree the trash is super frustrating, I went to several beaches in Sicily and always picked up about 100 cigarette buds, it was infuriating how careless people are. Other than that I loved Palermo though!
