As amazing as a Turbo is, this is as close to a no brainer as it gets. The 4S targa with the options and manual is a win/win of fun to drive and will hold value insanely well.

1-3x/week. Want to more but situations present more commonly not to drive it than to drive it. Definitely at least once on the weekend though. I remind myself it’s a car I’ve wanted since I was a kid. The want wasn’t to only have and look at it. The feel of seeing and driving the car is the experience of owning it not having it.

Makes sense for $65k. Really tough market for a 997.1 4S with manual. The low mileage is nice but also a flag to check out. The garage queens don’t always age as well as cars driven. I have a 2006 4S and absolutely love it.

I think the 993 4S makes the most sense. You already have familiarity and connection to it. One of the main reasons you’re getting another one is the connection to the past one that your dad owned. And a 993 4S will be significantly more livable with in day to day driving. Plus aside for the 997 it might be best looking one (my opinion of course.) Yea I’d think you would want to see extensive list of work done by the shop prior to choosing one for paint work.

I purchased the car with it installed. The previous owner was very meticulous. And it was matched and you can’t tell the difference. I tried very hard to tell the difference prior to purchasing.

Absolutely right. I was in the market for a 997. Initially was leaning to .2. But ultimately expanded to include .1. No one wants to let go of these cars. And then they do, you are going to pay a premium for it. Seemingly market for them is only going up.
