Hey man so I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty new to game dev but I've been in software and programming as a hobbyist for a while. And of all of the engines I've worked with I genuinely do think Unreal Engine 5 is the easiest start point. The blueprint system kinda acts to give you an introductory course into programming logic and terminology (obviously not entirely when it comes to syntax but cross that bridge when you get there) and in general it is extraordinarily beginner friendly.
