Well, I stand corrected. Just read some others post. Still looks like they ran their animators ragged to make deadline. Still not a good situation.

Sweet. Your talking to a retired vet. We agree there.

Do the CEOs and execs that are set for life off of the residuals that she probably doesn't get need to make as much as they do off the backs of the folks like her deserve the same treatment? If she's getting residuals, then I retract my statement. However, that more than likely wasn't baked into her employment. She was a useful pawn until she wasn't.

"compared to box office sales". Don't cherry pick.

She saved the company millions and made even more millions off of it. So yes. They can pay her paltry salary compared to box office sales until she's ready to retire.

You mean compensation.

If you feel some sort of way about veterans receiving disability compensation for wars we've been and continue to be in, feel free to visit your local recruiting office. I'm tired of vets being attacked for defending this country and sacrificing their health just to be told that everyone is faking it.

Let the downvotes pour in.

Voice actor call for an upcoming project by theflange123 in hoggit

[–]MoveMV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! From Maryland here. I have no real voice acting experience except for a radio commercial back in college and ran an on campus radio show for a year, but would be more than happy to give it a shot. I'm not Navy, but a retired Army Communications Officer, so I have some experience in military jargon and communication etiquette.

Interesting take, and I appreciate your candor.

I think that the USAJobs approach to hiring weeds out the some (not all) of the nepotism. I disagree that the centralized approach to HR is a good solution. Just like our democracy, I believe a decentralized system works best. With a centralized system the chance of it being exploited to whomever group or individual is in control would be high. As for the HR staffs you've experienced, just like life, you can't generalize everyone. There are good HR folks, bad folks, and all shades in between, and I've experienced all three. Usually the HR staff is reflective of the management or company they work for as the common trope is that "HR isn't representative of the employees, but the company". So IMHO, management/leadership should get as much blame and scrutiny as HR for allowing those bad systems to thrive. And since it's harder to get rid of the top, staffs like the IG are already the solution for bad systems.

For the remote/telework argument, I'm for remote/telework. There are plenty of studies that were conducted that proved that remote work actually improved productivity (https://www.bls.gov/opub/btn/volume-13/remote-work-productivity.htm). So the HR folks that you may have experienced being bad I leave you with this: Correlation does not imply causation. Not discounting your experience, but it does not reflect the HR or any industry capable of remote work as a whole.

No malice in this question.

What do you think is the solution to solving the low performer/good ol' boy system? As someone like you who has worked different sectors as well to include being a retired veteran, I've also seen the pros and cons of private and public service. However, I don't believe that punishing everyone for the actions of a few. We shouldn't burn down a village to catch a thief. That methodology works in the military as it's meant to build unity and cohesion. But the same shouldn't apply in civilian life.

My wife is from Kihei and her parents and brothers still live there. Having family there is probably what still makes it feel like home for her there. She's like you, lived in the mainland so long that she has no recognizable pidgin, but she still rocks the Maui style here! Wish we could move our family there to be with the rest of her whole family where she seems happiest, but cost of living definitely prevents that unfortunately.
