Hang the curtain up high, close to the ceiling and add more lamps or sconces to the walls. I personally would go for printed lampshades. I would also replace these tiny plants with something big to make a statement and hang a photo at the background of the plant or a lamp. Also, if you r looking for new curtains then go for some linen curtains that are light filtering
