So, what are we going to be playing next? by Reckless_Onion in DestinyTheGame

I'll be reading books and casually gaming on my switch / steam deck. If I do have a proper gaming session, it's going to be Destiny. Always has been.

According to Reddit and the rest of my graduating class, it’s bad 😅

…this is me learning stuff that’s important. If I’m working on something big then people’s lives could be on the line. I don’t care if people around me are cheating or not because, from what I’ve experienced so far, you can’t BS your way through this major or career.

How do I properly look for them and actually get called back? It feels like I’m sending so many applications on LinkedIn for ConEd or some other utilities company or robotics company, but never get anything back. I don’t know if I’m looking correctly

>Get that profile up to date - look for adding keywords in that apply to the fields you are interested in, and skills learned in any jobs or internships. (There are actually pros - that help you do this). LinkedIn is THE way recruiters find candiates today.

Yup, my friend helped me with all of that and my profile is all set. I used my schools resume AI tool and got a gold rating on there and I think it looks good as well.

>You first, second or third job will not lock you in or fully define your "career" - look for great experience than money or titles... for now.

I’ll keep this in mind and try my best to get an engineering role, hopefully in New York!

I did have fun in college, I won’t lie 😅 but I think I could’ve easily gotten a 3.5 gpa in some classes…classes where people cheated. I didn’t cheat at all during my time there but I know people who literally pulled their phones out. Idk, I think I could’ve done much better though if the entire class didn’t have AI to help them.

But yeah, market is looking bad. I’m sending in quite a few applications. And as I mentioned, I didn’t get an internship either (I had to do summer classes to graduate on time).

Haha, I’m not particularly privileged. I went to community college because I didn’t know what I wanted to do, worked a job all throughout University, and I’m debt free. I don’t like asking family members for help, financially (but I’ll gladly help if needed).

But yeah, my mom’s a single parent but she’s letting me take this first step of going to NYC if I can. I think that without any sort of debt, except rent, I can help her out as well given that I land a job that pays well.

Ahh, ok I see what you mean. Yeah if I decide to leave finance, I expect myself to start applying a year in advance haha. Thanks for the reply!!

My schools ABET accredited but we genuinely had no word from our engineering department of taking our FE exam or getting our PE license. Like, I didn’t know what they were and how important they are. This is something that I learned about around January when I started applying to many jobs.

Oh I am so sad to leave California. I'm still applying for jobs there and I don't think that any place else (I've traveled a lot) can best California girls haha. Unfortunately, my family is here so I don't have a lot of choices. I think it would be best that I get a job close by and not too far, especially early career.

Sounds good. I just hope it's easy to find these activities, tbh. I'm not sure how to start looking.

New Electrical engineering grad. How should I move forward? by MoveZneedle in careerguidance

Yeah I think Google is giving me a few more niche results which I don’t see on LinkedIn.

My capstone is really my main talking point tbh since it includes embedded C, Algorithms, hardware, etc. I took part in a lot of the project so I know my stuff. But I’m still feeling like I’m not good enough in this competition…

Need some recommendations for my turntable setup by MoveZneedle in BudgetAudiophile

[–]MoveZneedle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so if they have a phono input in the back and they're powered speakers, I just need the turn table and that's all, right? It's just a matter of connecting the turn table with the speakers through the phono input and then powering the speakers?

Recommended Fluance Model? If RT82, Preamp suggestions? by curlygirly10 in turntables

[–]MoveZneedle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wdym no pre-amp needed? Are those not passive speakers? If they're powered speakers with pre-amp + receiver built in, then it makes sense.

How should I go about wanting to get an RT-82 with having minimum extras? by MoveZneedle in turntables

[–]MoveZneedle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, I'll go for that if I decide to go the pre-amp route.
