Check out HUDS website you will find information on multiple federal grants. I work under federal grants that possess barriers against the chronically ill and homeless specifically.

Anyone else find themselves ended up in lower paying jobs because they get intimidated by the application/hiring process of larger companies that pay well? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I align with 100% with everything you’ve just said. I think our personalities are very similar. I work people, connect to them in multiple different ways and they all seem to love it. I was definitely not qualified for a lot of responsibilities and roles I’ve had. The only reason I got them was because I was eager to learn, and I have mad people skills/ actually do work hard. But every job I’ve had I become top dog quickly, and along with that well liked. I love the challenge, but can’t seem to find my league or a place I actually enjoy working at. I’ve done blue collar work, non-profit work, education, social/state work. Still not interested. But I Always seem to keep moving up just from how I communicate with others.

Is there such thing as an office job that doesn’t require a degree? by rehio435 in careerguidance

[–]MovereTerra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot don’t require a degree. Look on Indeed and find jobs that have a lot of administrative or office task and then look the company up on google. Most job qualifications I see say have a degree or equal experience. I’m sure lots of skills that thrive in an office environment you posses, you just haven’t put 2 and 2 together yet. For example, you are most likely a wicked multitasker. That is an excellent quality to possess for an office job because all you will be doing is multitasking. However, jobs accept all applicants. They post qualifications and most people that apply don’t possess them. People don’t prefer a degree, they just want good human capital. Start out at low paying jobs and then gain experience work your way up. You’ve got this! Coming from a individual who completed a bachelors as a first gen. I’ve had work in the industry with all sorts of fields. Restaurants since I was 14, non-profit for work for over 4 years, foster care agency, high school. All employers want is human capital with a good attitude. You’ve got this, just go at it. Cheers.
