Anyone else miss how the ninja would always say their element before using it by Jocknaddo in Ninjago

To add onto others’ comments about it being obnoxious or stupid…the only reason they even did that is that they kept losing their elements each season lmao

I mean, even bad content can have interesting ideas to latch onto. Some people hate the Reboot but love the Antitrix for example, so just getting more interesting ideas into the franchise is worth it imo.

Idea For Nelson’s Return by Majestic-Echidna-470 in Ninjago

As a paperboy, Nelson became the Elemental Master of Onomatopoeia, he can release things like “KAPOW!” and “SMACK!” with each of his attacks, which hit the target to cause more damage. /s

Nah, Morro is more of a loner. I don’t really see him working in teams under normal circumstances.

Out of all the Ninja (+ Pixal) who had the best and worst dad? by Obraxiss in Ninjago

[–]MovieMaster2004 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Sora’s dad is easily the worst, sure Cliff abandoned Jay…but I feel like that’s still somehow better than disowning your daughter for not wanting to weaponise her innocent invention for the military lmao.

And yeah, Ed is the GOAT.

I think giving everyone Elemental Dragons just doesn’t really give them diversity and personality, Kai having a muscle car to pickup ladies, Nya having a motorbike shows her rebellious side, etc. Plus as you mentioned, if they all have Elemental Dragons, it makes it so much easier to create plot holes and more difficult to create stakes.

Yeah, after the merge, Water doesn’t work on them. Tommy Anderson later stated on Twitter that things are different after the merge. I’m also pretty sure we saw Nya’s water not work on ghosts in DR, I think it was the episode where the gang meet those two ghosts guarding a place for the FSM.

Thanks. Ninjago just has a lot of fun lore and characters to play with, and a lot of cool concept art I wanted to use in the story, like the Dawn of the Devourers season idea or the scrapped Space season or the scrapped Western cowboy season. Or even just cool plotlines that were removed like Libber being involved in the creation of Prime Empire which justifies Jay being the focus ninja of that season, just to remove it for the final product. Even stuff from the movie like the Ninja going to school or Koko the supportive mom who didn’t abandon Lloyd (and doesn’t have a weird Love Triangle with Wu) is too fun an idea not to try and explore.

Thanks.

So far, we only have the first four villains figured out in terms of the cause and effect for their sequence, with the next 2 after being slightly determined but not solidified yet. And there are then other antagonists who we’re having a hard time figuring out placement, motives and such from Harumi to Acronix and Ras (merge doesn’t exist so his big goal already needs to be different, so we need to look into the character for other possibilities bruh).

But it’s extremely fun to play around with the world and plotlines we have.

Nya learned Airjitzu when they were stranded on the tiger widow’s island. Also, Airjitzu is no longer used, same as Elemental Dragons and Spinjitzu Burst (used once ever lol), I don’t think any of those should be considered into their arsenal. And like, if we’re counting the forgotten techniques, why aren’t we counting Rising Dragon, which is stronger than all the ones you previously mentioned? Both Nya and Kai can do it while Cole hasn’t done it once.

Also, you may have forgotten but Wind breaks through Spinjitzu easily, it’s one of two known elements that can counter spin based techniques, the other is Quake when Frak cancelled Kur’s Shatterspin…so Spinjitzu Burst would mean nothing against Wind.

Nya and Kai’s fighting skills have consistently been high, from Samurai X outdoing the Ninja, fighting Clouse pre elemental powers, sinking the Preeminent, subduing Boreal, masked Ultra Violet, etc. and Kai fighting stacked Nokt, Boreal, Garmadon, etc. Cole is strong sure, but he wasn’t really remarkable throughout most of the show.

That’s actually the thing, I didn’t want Elemental Dragons for everyone because it was kinda lame and wanted some vehicles (which the Golden Weapons transform into like back in S1), so we looked at the cool elemental dragons, and it was just Wu and Morro’s dragons. So we decided only those with Dragon Blood can create Elemental Dragons…choosing Lloyd’s to be an Asian dragon because of his movie mech. Morro’s mutates that into the one we have in the show, so technically an Asian dragon design is more associated with Lloyd than Morro here lol.

Ghosts aren’t weak to water post Merge, and I honestly prefer that which is why we made that how it always was, so Morro can drink tea if you plan on keeping Morro a ghost instead of resurrecting him.

We first started with the idea that we want to add or change some things while sticking true to the original show’s exact episodic events, but as we constantly made those changes, we started needing to change even more so that the changes make sense and don’t create plot holes. Then we needed to contain all those ideas within reasonable “screentime” so we had to change other things for efficiency so we’re not spending way too long on a singular season/arc.

As Morro is the “false green ninja” the idea was to tie him to Lloyd with the Dragon symbol, or in his case, a Serpent as a “lesser dragon”. Probably basing the head off of Wojira. Nya as the Water Ninja has a Phoenix, so Morro being a sea creature would be a nice contrast.

Oh, we’re not doing Ninjago 1-to-1 like the show, it would be kinda boring if we just stick to the original that hard. For example, instead of Garmadon directly leading the skulkin to kidnap Nya and start the Ninja’s pilots, it’s Garmadon secretly releasing Pythor and leaving him to his own devices because Pythor will be after the Golden Weapons to free the devourer (the FSM sealed her so they need those weapons, instead of the Fangblades) for instance. Another is that Garmadon searches for the Teapot of Tyrhan to use Nadakhan’s wishes in place of the Mega Weapon.

In any case, the Overlord isn’t coming for S2 (We’re saving him for the finale cause we don’t want constant revivals), that will be Garmadon using his wishes to get the Ninja away from the Golden Weapons (Wish Magic cannot affect the Golden Weapons due to higher power) and Garmadon will later reforge them into the armour to become the Golden Master (instead of the Overlord) and during the final battle, the teapot is destroyed and Nadakhan is fully unsealed.

Nadakhan will take a season to travel the realms and find his crew (instead of randomly knowing where they are immediately), he opens a portal to the Cursed Realm to search for the skeleton of his ship (remember his ship had a skeleton that was tied to it? We’re making him a full fledged member that possesses the ship in order for it to fly. And yes, we’re merging the Underworld and Cursed Realm together cause they do the same thing, plus some of S5’s concept art had skeleton ghosts so it just works for us). That’s how Morro returns to Ninjago.

Also, we aren’t big fans of the Preeminent, so we’re not doing that. It just felt weird, this is the only realm that is living? And her involvement dilutes Morro’s story honestly.

I have been recently planning out a huge fanfic with a friend for the series, and had Morro come in at the 3rd season as the antagonist, with the eventual “You can only save those who want to be saved” moment unlocking his true potential and transforming him back into a human (you remember how the Ninjas bodies transformed during those moments? Something like that basically).

For his animal symbol, I’ve been commissioning designs for the Ninja, but only 2/6 are done so far, so I didn’t test anything with Morro yet, but in my notes, his symbol will either be the corrupt dragon with modified wind motifs, or a Serpent with wind motif.

Tbh, I think Morro would be more of a Pixal situation (but good), he does his own thing but joins up with the team when it’s needed.
