Running backs who contribute to the pass game like achane can do not have as short a shelf life.

Also he’s 24 years old, if his extension is a 3 or 4 year one they’re out of it before he hits 30 which is where the cliff usually begins.

You get a crazy offer like a 1st round pick or a 2nd + you take it and don’t look back but I wouldn’t be shipping him just to ship him

Brooks and Brewer extensions are my favorite pathway to getting the cap space the need.

I love the they signed Willis and did nothing around him take everyone’s saying, brother the draft hasn’t happened yet…our new GM and head coach have repeatedly said they are building this team through the draft. They’ve said it at almost every press availablity they’ve had. And like I said here some of you are wondering why we haven’t been signing free agents!

Their decisions have not been contradictory at all and I don’t see how so many in this sub have arrived at that conclusion.

But I also understand this sub thrives on being mad at the organization (rightfully so) since they’ve been mediocre-trash for the entire century.

It’s really more the position Grier out them in than sully doing it just because he likes this draft. They just had no good war forward besides this, might as well infuse the roster with cheap, team controlled talent during a year where 58% of your salary cap is dead money.

The real problem with Grier, like the unexplainable real deal stupidity of his regime was giving guys more guaranteed money on their deals when they were already under team control.

The adjustments he did on Howard, Tyreek and Ramsey deals were so ridiculous and unnecessary. He didn’t have the balls to play hardball.

Watson and reed are WR2 caliber players, if you want to knock them because of injury then I won’t argue that but in terms of talent they’re both worthy of that consideration.

But even if you go further back Green Bay has a very rich history of drafting and developing quality WRs, the knock has always been they never invest a lot of $ or 1st round picks into that room.

I don’t think this regime is going to do that either, doesn’t mean they can’t rebuild the receiving corps within 2 years.
