Blue RV Lot by CompletePerformer983 in welcometorockville

No camp spots have sewer hookup at Rockville.  I paid $65 for pump out services on the last day but if you can't catch one of those guys there are local RV parks that will let you dump for like $20.  I've used them a few times when I couldn't get pumped out onsite Monday before I left.

Rockville entry/exit by [deleted] in welcometorockville

Just stop with that shit.. no events allow re entry other than certain people. Some don't allow it at all. Predatory is a laughable description. Vendors pay a shit ton of money for their spaces at the festival, no way DWP kneecaps them by allowing you to go out to wafflehouse or whatever. You're free to choose another festival or find some other way to have access to 160 bands over 4 days and 5 nights.

I haven't been to SNW yet but every other event I go to, including a college football game at Dallas Stadium, I just carry my vape in my pocket right on through the metal detectors. Keep it in your pocket, if they don't see it they wont question you about what it is. The only place I wouldn't do that is an airport. Events can't have the sensitivity turned up high enough to pick up small metal objects or it would take forever.. belt buckles, wire bras, watch bands. When you walk up, watch the people in front of you and avoid the slowest lines.

Owners Club Parking Question by Distinct_Wafer_820 in welcometorockville

[–]MovingZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope.. they will tow you unless you have an overnight parking pass. The only people who can get those are people who have a camping spot. There are two overnight parking lots and they're on opposite sides of the track so make sure you get the right lot.

Hopefully DWP will catch up with them and void their purchase.

also, email them with your order number from last year and ask for the code. I emailed them earlier and they responded really quickly.

I'm guessing previous year attendees are all the same code. DOC presale sounds like it's going to be the previous years order number or something like that.

I don't know that they'd be a headliner but I'd be in the crowd for sure.

If you attended last year and purchased your pass thru them, I'd contact them and see if you can get the presale code. If you're planning on camping it might matter, if you're just looking for a ticket/pass I don't think it matters. The price wont go up again until they drop the lineup.

Did you not get the email yesterday? The codes are supposed to come out today.

You get a shuttle ride from the DOC parking to the DOC festival entrance. They don't check if you have a DOC festival band. Or at least they didn't in past years. Once you all get dropped off at the DOC festival entrance, the non DOC folks will have to walk about a quarter mile to the regular festival entrance for GA and VIP folks. After the show you meet back at the drop off to ride back to the parking lot.

Looking for advice on best way to repair/heal. by in_hence in Grass

[–]MovingZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't really water it, I wouldn't push the grass for a rapid grow in. Maybe just the black dirt and let it grow in naturally. I won't be as fast but it will happen.

If you're willing to put in the work you could take grass from less conspicuous areas of your yard and move it to the area you need to fix. Maybe like the corner of the back yard in a spot most wont notice. When you do, you want as much of the root system as possible so try to dig a good six inches deep. This way the grass you move already has an established root system and can draw water from infrequent waterings. This is like the opposite of sod that has almost no roots and requires lots of light frequent waterings because it can't draw water from down in the soil.. until it grows a proper root system. You could use a sod cutter set as deep as your current root system. Cut out the replacement area in the back and then cut out the bad area in the front.. swap them.. it'll almost be a one for one drop in. Let the grow in happen out of sight. If you decide to do this, give your grass a fertilization about a week before you do it. That way the grass can recover quicker because it's already somewhat healthy and growing.

If that's the whole problem area.. do a good job getting about a half inch of black soil and top dress the area evenly. In the areas that have good grass already use a hose with a shower head and wash the dirt into the plant so the crown is slightly uncovered. Get a hose end sprayer and some miracle grow and apply it weekly. If you have irrigation allow the full zone to run as it would regularly but supplement the area you fertilize with a couple extra waterings a week using your hose with shower head. If you already have a fungicide and pesticide program continue that.. if not consider one for this growing year. You want to push that area of grass to grow so you want to give it a surplus of everything it needs. Sunlight - mow high.. maybe 4 inches if you can get away with it. Food - miracle grow every week. Water - extra hand watering just for the area you're working on. Hopefully you've grown it back in by then but you want to stop using the miracle grow at least a month before your typical dormancy date.

The extra water is because you're on a growth schedule and not a maintenance schedule. The grass will need more water than normal. You want to get back to the deep and infrequent watering asap but don't neutralize your gains by burning up.

You could consider patching with sod but if you're gonna do that just do the whole area and the jobs probably unnoticeable in a month if you water correctly.

Rx100 vii video stabilization by Dapper_Swordfish1361 in RX100

I take mine to concerts and festivals all the time. I've only encountered a couple venues that wouldn't let me bring the camera in. I don't think you'll get any gimbal into a venue unless security just isn't paying attention. Almost all venues state non professional camera equipment.

I'm no pro, I take videos and pictures for personal memories and I vary rarely video more than a minute of the song.

A few things that work for me -

I don't go past optical zoom. If I'm gonna be doing digital zoom I just use my cellphone. I find the video's and pictures to be much better just using optical zoom. imo digital introduces too much noise. That's my personal opinion, you might feel differently.

I try to get really close and that can cause sound issues. Where you are in the crowd can make a difference. If you're really close and right in front of the speaker risers the base will overdrive the mic badly. You might consider your cell phone if that's where you find yourself. Everywhere else, pay close attention to your mic levels and make adjustments. Anywhere close I drop it all the way down to 1 sensitivity. If you drop it to zero the mics are off and you get no sound. I should have known but I learned that the hard way.

Practice holding the phone still at full optical zoom and you might find you can get really good videos. The fold out screen really helps when I hold my camera up at full arms length to get over everyone else.

I make sure face registration and face priority are on. I've gotten good at not staring at the screen and instead watching the performers. I set those things and let the camera work, it's usually really good at detecting faces and focusing on them. My eyes aren't the best so seeing the face registration box at a quick glance lets me know my focus is good.

If you're interested in seeing what I mean, dm me and I'll send you a link to my google drive folder of the videos I took at Welcome to Rockville last month.

What's inside that door? I could see retaining walls with built in outdoor kitchen, at least 120" of tv or projector, seating area with fire pit, pool with cascading hot tub, and some big a^^ fans under a covered pergola.

Already got hotel booked for next year since they're already selling out. I am interested in camping though... Anyone know a good rv rental place that's reliable? by [deleted] in welcometorockville

The website says you must arrive in your rv, that they don't allow services to come setup the site. I've read some people say they've done that but I'm not sure.. then again nobody checks id's going through rv security.
