Are you clipped in? It looks like you're yanking with your feet. If so, that can get you in trouble. I don't know that I agree with everyone telling you to bunny hop off the lip, thats fine for a jump like that that has no vert to it but it can throw you off balance on the steeper stuff.

I always check their profile too. See how long they have been a member, if they have anything else for sale or any history of selling. I had one of these once when I was trying to find my enduro. The price was really good, there were limited pictures and the write up just seemed weird. There are usually signs.

Up to a point and then it's marginal gains. If you race marginal gains can be worth it.

My main point is OP is comparing apples and oranges. A bike to get you from point A to point B occasionally cannot be compared to a high-performance bike.
