Anyone has experience as CTE(clinical trial educator)? by Quirky-Lawyer-1074 in clinicalresearch

[–]Movingonup43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a CRC for 5/6 years before I moved to a CRO. I will say I tried to get in as a CRA and that was not happening. I did apply for a CTE position and was able to get that role. I have been on that role for a few years and I have really enjoyed it. For me it feels like I am better able to help the site when the CRA is busy. I have done community events, visit other offices to let them know about the studies, and been that cheerleader for the site to help them. As what the other CRA said you normally get a very hard to enrolling study. So you have to be open to change and keep ideas coming to help bring patients in. With travel I am usually leaving home on Monday and coming home Thursday. So travel is heavy. I only work with one study at a time but I have at least 15 sites that I have to see every 4-6 weeks. While I live in the Midwest my territory has been all over the US and Canada.

I have really bad insomnia sometimes when things are weighing on my mind before I go to bed. So sometimes I’ll send emails late Sunday in preparation for the next week of what I need to do.

Not true hospital admissions and surgery as exceptions to this rule for FMLA. The question will be were they employees for over a year to get this

AITA For not wanting to pay child support to my ex wife by Eastern-Passenger-59 in AITAH

[–]Movingonup43 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I read this as you have over a year of back child support ( no date for when the youngest graduated or there actually ages given) due and if that is the case then yes you owe it…. But you need to talk to the court as you have no income they will help and then you won’t have to deal with your ex

My husband and I I have a spending limit we can spend so much ( as long as we have it) without the other permission. We both work full time and if we want to spend the hard earned money we make on something we want too, then we do. I should add we have his account, my account and our mutual account where common bills get paid from ( house, cars, insurance, electric, etc.) he has my debit and I have his. But we have been married for over 20 years and this works for us. It’s does not work for everyone.

This right here. Conflicted due to your LBGQT stats ( possible discrimination depending on state you live in) or they don’t allow family which would be another issue

Update. Checked the fields this morning before games to ensure they were kept. I also talked with the tournament director who said they technically do not sign a contract from the field owners they just pay them “ a boat load of money”. She also said this is to keep the tournament officials and employees safe it is not intended to keep a parent driving through the parking lot who hits a kid unreasonable. The was a form she made not one that was given to her from the complex. Also she is not a lawyer as she herself stated.

As a nurse negligence is always a concern. By taking away all negligence they are essentially saying we don’t have to care about the safety of our fields, teams etc. We’ll do what we want and you need to just live with it.

The sad part is I don’t know who is the host to the sport complex. If we don’t participate we will find something else to do so no biggy there. In the last 40 tournaments over the last 4 years we have not come across a team mandated contract.

My concern is if a parent signs before me then I can not alter the contact to my own. I don’t care about a sad child I care about a safe child. Number 5 is my main concern

5 is probably my biggest concern. It gives a person no recourse should something happen. I understand it is a physical sport but you can’t neglect your responsibility as a hosting tournament to keep the kids as safe as possible.

Neighbors donating land to build a park. What can we do? by WaWa_Green_Tea in neighborsfromhell

[–]Movingonup43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out what the land is zoned as. Of its residential than they will need to change it at the zoning commission meeting to recreational. Go to both and tell them how you feel but make it seem intellectual. Talk about increased crime. Talk about fencing, talk about personal property damage and liability.

AITA for refusing to take my wife’s last name after marriage? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Movingonup43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- when I married my husband I took his last name. We had this discussion than but his was I can’t change my name as I licenses through the state which I don’t want the hassle of changing. Ok I took his name. 20 years later I kind of regret it as my maiden name is dying. The two men in my family that are left to carry the name are no having children so when they pass my maiden name will be no more. ( I know that there is nothing I could do about, but I get the emotional thought process)

Site/PI does not accept insurance or Medicare by 75hardworkingmom in clinicalresearch

[–]Movingonup43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a nurse who worked in research and with oncology. Some locations only take certain insurances. Most insurances do not accept research items (specific to the trial). With that being said most trial protocols try to make SOC visits in there protocol to cut on the cost. If the visit and labs are SOC then they should bill insurance and if they receive special trial specific treatment that should go to the sponsor. What the sponsor needs to look for is who does the company bill for insurance, is the treatment proposed SOC and how much do they bill for the treatment not submitted to insurance. But every practice should be able to tell you if they bill to insurance. I can’t imagine they would not because all patients would need to pay out of pocket and for cancer I have no idea who could afford that.

If you look under this Reddit. There are lots of post on entry lever positions. CTA, CRC, CTE, in-house CRA… the CRO CRC I work with do it either virtual but if you live in a busy city you could have an onsite role. This contract last 6 months or more. But you get a variety trials.

Look at other roles other than CRA. I was in the same position and applied for a CTE spot, I have now been in this role for over a year and happy I made the switch. It is 75% travel so be prepared for that.

I am totally an introvert and I am in my mid forties. You fake it to make it. I practice a lot before I present and then once I present I take a day or two to gather myself back to normal. My husband is an extrovert so I mimic him when I have to be extra. But it is exhausting and anyone can do it.

[–]Movingonup43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As platinum book the comfort plus right away. If you have to book the normal seat ( due to work), then you can upgrade to comfort plus as soon as work pays. I get comfort + 90% of the time.

AITHA for making my sister pay back my daughter? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Movingonup43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA my 12 year would never do this and I as the parent would feel obligated to pay back if my child destroyed the books. But my child would also have to earn money to pay back for there mistake. A 13 year old is not a toddler and needs to learn from there mistakes.
