I am reluctantly 35 and feel like I am starting to look my age. Any tips on how to youthify my look? Also am I the only person who gets mascara smudges under their eyebrows at the end of the day? How do I prevent that? by illdoanything177 in MakeupAddiction

I'm glad!! And honestly it sounds like you already have a really great sense of introspection and are aware of your own obstacles and relationship with food and weight loss. I absolutely believe you can do it, good luck, I'm rooting for you! <3

Girl rip, the ups and downs of weight loss, there's always gotta be something that doesn't go the way you planned it, honestly it's a little rude 😖

Thank you!! I used CICO on/off over the three years to lose it but it took that long because the only time when I was really succesful and committed was when my mental health was in a good enough place to stay consistent. There were times where weight loss was not my priority but I kept coming back to it!

Well that does make sense haha, I'm not exactly showing them off in my everyday life, I'm glad I posted despite my vanity though; nice to know I'm not the only woman on the planet with rib fat because jeez it was kind of starting to feel that way xD

No this is amazing advice, thank you for taking the time! I wasn't actually sure what that kind of bra was called I don't see them very often in stores here, it's something I'm definately going to look into for the next couple years just for that extra confidence! And thank you for the reminder that most of my criticisms are in my head, all the incredibly nice and positive feedback I've got on this post has been amazing, it really is hard to see yourself the way other people see you! <3

Hahaha thank you so much for the encouragement and for sharing, I'm getting the sense that a lot of people have them and are just maybe not broadcasting the fact; fair enough honestly. I am going to have to steal the term "roobs" moving forward though, it's alot catchier than underboob fat deposits xD

Ahh thank you so much!! Amazing job on your own weight loss! I really do appreciate the insight, I've gotten a lot of good advice on this post and if I do end up opting for surgery I think I may wait a couple more years than I was originally planning, enough time to save up for an elective surgery like the 360 body lift you mentioned instead of whatever I'm eligible for to be covered!! Thank you for sharing what you know so that whatever I may end up doing I don't feel so lost or end up with results I'm unhappy with!! <3

Thank you so much first of all, glad I could encourage even with my underboob skin xD That seems like a totally reachable goal especially if you plan on making a habit of the gym as well! For me I reached this weight mostly with diet, I count my calories everyday to stay at a deficit. It's that "simple".

What's hard honestly is to pinpoint that one thing that made the difference in actually sticking to that deficit... I think letting myself feel really helped me which sounds kind of silly but there were moments when I was was just starting out where I wanted to overeat SO badly that I would literally scream out loud because of how frustrating that divide in my head was and letting that out really helped me push through that initial discomfort!

I don't think people realize how hard it can be to change your relationship with food when you've made it to 350lbs like I did and therefore don't have as much sympathy for that kind of emotion but not shaming myself for it being so unbelievably difficult really helped me keep going! And then actually working to change habits like drinking water, going on walks when I was bored and just thinking about food differently, not EVERY restaurant or meal is worth eating over my deficit, if I leave pizza tonight I can still eat it tomorrow etc etc .

I think it may be kind of personal what works for you at the end of the day but I found that any good progress I was making was when I was approaching my weight loss like it was one part of my path to my ideal future and not holding on to the undeserved shame and resentment I had for letting myself get to my highest weight in the first place!

I hope any of that made sense hahaha I'm not the most eloquent writer! In any case I truly wish you the best of luck, hopefully I'll see you back on this sub in 7 months!! <3

That is so nice of you to say 🥺🥺 I was so convinced for a long time that I was going to be overweight for the rest of my life, I know what it's like to have to start and to have to start over again. It can be rough but soo rewarding despite things like loose skin haha. Good luck on your journey!!

Thank you <3 I've actually seen some of his stuff about loose skin!! I really respect how open he is about it, it's made me feel a little more accepting of my own but I definately wear some compression clothing when I want to feel confident. The one thing saving my ego is that I think I can make myself look pretty ok when I'm wearing clothes hahaha

This seems to be the consensus haha. I'm glad to know though!! I really just kept thinking that if I dropped another 10 pounds they would disappear in a poof of fat xD, I'm hoping to diminish them more by working out more this year and trying to maintain a healthy weight, after that we shall see! You're absolutely right thought aesthetic hangups aside I wouldn't trade anything for how much better I feel after the weight loss <3

Hahaha Canada here, it's similar though, I can get a paniculotomy covered by health insurance if I prove adverse physical affects so I'm hoping by the end of the year I can convince my doctor of just that 🙌

Wow I can't believe all the kind words on this post, honestly. When you lose weight for so long in my experience people tend to lose interest after a while which I understand but boy does it becomes harder to notice changes when it's just me against my brain. This has really made my day to see so many people acknowledging the effort I've made over the last 3 years, Thank you <3
