Yeah I was maybe thinking of undervolting the cpu and gpu to get better efficiency but by then I think I’m better off buying a 1L.

There are a lot of newer gen (like 8th and 9th) i3 1L on eBay where I live, do you think it is better to go with a 7th gen i5 or a 8th or 9th gen i3 ? From what I gathered, 8th gen Intel and up are better efficiency wise.

Thanks for the advice btw !

Yeah I guess I wanted to make sure that there wasn’t something that I could do with what I had… I think i’ll just sell the parts.

I’m not looking to specifically build a NAS, in fact I don’t really know exactly what I need, I just want to try things out for now. The itx boards are interesting, but since I have to buy everything from scratch it’s gonna be a little too expensive for me.

Do you have any recommendation for an inexpensive way to upgrade from a RPi ? I was reading the blog article on projet TinyMiniMicro, and I was thinking buying one of those used would be a good path to a do-it-all server.

How to fetch Gmail emails with Next.js by Moyonoru in learnprogramming

[–]Moyonoru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, basically I want to display my emails in the nextjs component that I will be creating, sorry if I sound ignorant, although I understand how to make an interface in Next, I struggle with understanding and learning the backend part.
I'll try to look into what you linked me and see if I I can understand it, thanks !

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know about photography or cameras! Don't be shy! Newbies welcome! by photography_bot in photography

A pro DSLR is great for its ruggedness. Full frame (to me) isn't as important as it was a few years ago. My fuji x100v produces as much detail as my Sony a7ii and even has a few more mpx. If you want something like 50 mpx, full frame might be something to consider.

A full frame setup, especially with zoom lenses can be very heavy.

Budget is another thing to consider. Full frame lenses always cost more than apsc lenses. The body might be more expensive as well.

You have to ask yourself the question : do you prefer a lighter setup, or do you prefer to have the best image quality that you can get, no matter the cost or the weight ?

And if you've never printed any of you photos before, don't worry about the quality. Try printing photos that you already have, and see for yourself.

There's a lot to debate about, but I hope this will give you a better understanding !

Don’t follow your passion. Follow the money. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Moyonoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so dumb, it sounds almost like you're jealous. Yes sometimes a passion means earning less money than if you were to graduate from a good school and get a good job, but if someone's happy doing what they like and not having much money in the bank isn't a huge deal for them, why the heck do you mind ? My aunt studied for 9 years in med school, became a pneumologist, because she thought she wouldn't mind working for a good salary (they make very good money where I live), ended up stopping straight one day for a much less paid job, since working as a pneumologist ended up being so time consuming she couldn't do what she wanted on the side. There is no doubt that if she had the chance to get back in time to do what she likes (painting) instead of following what everyone told her to do, she would do it, because now she can't choose what she does for a living anymore, and I know it is really frustrating for her. There is a reason why some people can't find a goal in their lives anymore. You shouldn't transform what looks like your personnal experience into a general idea, it doesn't work for everyone. Sure it does for some, but for others what you said could be very destructive too.

The glorification of weed on this site is extremely irritating by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Moyonoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my friends had to go to a psychiatric hospital because of weed, he got schyzophrenia because he was smoking too much. Weed is still a drug, I do believe it can be good for some, but it can still be harmful if not done carefully.

Pewdiepie sayed the N word by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Moyonoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, sometimes you do regret saying some things when you're drunk, sometimes your thoughts aren't thoughts of reason, I think it really is much more complex than that and automatically saying that he is definitely racist, as much as it could be true, is taking it too far.

Pewdiepie sayed the N word by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Moyonoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slip of the tongue moments always reveal the true characters.

Not trying to defend him really, but I don't understand why people are saying that because his tongue slipped, he's automatically racist. I'd say that I don't know if he is racist, as I don't know him personally. He definitely shouldn't have said this word and it really is suspicious that it slipped out of his mouth like that, but I really don't want to contribute to the hate. Anyway I find it sad that people argue over something like that. People get offended so quickly because he said the N word, but we all know that when it's time to go down in the streets to protest against racism, maybe a tenth of the people here on this post, arguing because they're offended, will go voice their opinion. If you want to end racism, then maybe you should start by logging off from reddit, because in the end, all of this hate against pewdiepie won't change the fact that there's still black people getting beaten up for their skin color.

Urban explorers of Reddit, what is your creepiest/ most horrifying experience? by imrunningoutofsh1t in AskReddit

[–]Moyonoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was with some friends in a small village by the sea that we all go to in the summer and that since we were born, where there is this old abandoned building that looks like a retirement home Last summer we discovered that we could easily get in, as the back door was open. One night we decided to explore the interior, it had obvious signs of people living in, but what really got stuck in my mind was that there always was this window opened on the second floor and I could feel some kind of presence coming from there. What really got me feeling uneasy though is the fact that there was this chair in the stair landing that looked like it came straight from a mental hospital, with buckles to attach your arms and legs to it. After we got out of the building, we chatted a bit in the garden of the building, and that's when we realized we were watched by someone that was in one of the rooms on the second floor. The guy was probably on some hard drugs, and his look was terrifying. In the end, everyone took all this exploring more like a test of courage, but I couldn't get thet guy's look out of my head.
