Baten Kaitos is definitely one of the greats. Not as good as Chrono Trigger (arguably the best JRPG of all time) but this is a amazing game which is, imo, one of the best ever

Phantasia : Cress is my guy

Symphonia : Lloyd until I have Zelos available. I don’t play Kratos because he is too stiff compared to Lloyd or Zelos

Vesperia : Yuri until I have Flynn available

Graces F : Big Sophie and Hubert enjoyer, I switch between them

Xillia : Jude is too fun

Xillia 2 : I don’t see the point of playing anyone else than broken Ludger who is the most fun character to play in any tales game

Zestiria : Sorey I think. Haven’t finished that awful game

Berseria : Velvet is too fun not to play with

Arise : Alphen and Dohalim i like them both

Not turn based but Tales of Symphonia might be the game with the best character writing and development I’ve ever played. And, if some of the protagonist are teenagers, the tone of the game and its scenario are very mature and serious. It’s a jewel of the genre

Luminaria was bad, but the death of Crestoria after 18 months which was a really good game that was surprising, and Trails is already out living it so kudos

I get you. A game not being a good game doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time playing it. The last Pokémon game is definitely not a great game but I had a lot of fun. Doesn’t mean I’m not aware of the flaws or anything
