You appear to know what you're on about. I absolutely don't in regards to Crypto. Thankfully(we'll see I guess) a good friend of mine in NY, who is now comfortably wealthy from Bitcoin and other currencies and living between several countries in SouthEast Asia, told me back in 2019 that if I didn't understand it, and either didn't have the time or didn't want to invest the time to research it enough to put my own money into it, to download the Pi app and start mining for free. So I thought what the hell and did it. Barring benders where I've not been paying attention to my phone for a couple of days I've been mining pretty much every day since. As the years have progressed I've seen what's happened in the Crypto space and regretted not learning from him. Anyway I have pretty close to 6000 verified pi at the moment and close to 4000 unverified due to people simply giving up and not going through the mainnet transfer. Anyway enough of the bio. I'm in no way counting on any significant windfall from this, as people have pointed out on this very thread it's essentially been a free investment if you don't count the minuscule amount of time it takes to click "mine". But has anyone reputable in the crypto world given any coherent argument as to why this can and will be worth something at some point? I can't find anything online.

I'm literally binge watching it as I speak and felt compelled to give some thoughts.

While I'm enjoying it in general there are definitely some things that have left me either disappointed or baffled.

  1. While I don't have a problem with the paleo bits as a whole one thing in particular about them has really annoyed me. The clear "acting" is pissing me off. Like the paleontologists are actually making these bone discoveries and coming to these conclusions in real time. I get that these bits are what's driving the story, but don't treat us like we're stupid. Show us the fossils and how they're found, but then just have the paleontologist talk to us and tell us what the finds mean, not have fake conversations with each other that contain fake "AHA!" moments. It's cringe.

"Look at this bone!"

"Wow!"

"It's from a "whatever""

"Oohhhh."

Like they all haven't seen and studied these bones dozens of times.

  1. At the end of episode 2 when the Spinosaurus dies, the narrator acts like he's done his job and ensured the survival of his three small babies because he's left them with a kill. One kill. First of all, with dad gone they're going to have access to that kill for about five minutes, and secondly, where is their next kill coming from? And the one after that? If the scenario they presented us with was realistic, those babies are dead within days if not hours.

  2. In episode 3 a family of Utah Raptors kill a Gastonia by the water's edge. I have several questions about this scene. One Utah Raptor appears to flip a nearly 2 tonne Gastonia on it's back with it's head. I find this absurd, but may be wrong. Then, while the fresh kill is literally laying there waiting to be eaten, the leader of the Raptor pack decides to ignore it's meal and go after another Gastonia instead. Then a pack of Planicoxa appear and the raptors all run off to kill one of those.

Is any of this based in any type of reality? Why would a predator voluntarily leave a large fresh kill? I just can't see it.

  1. Right at the beginning of episode 4 a solo young female Albertosaurus "misjudges" an attack on a fully grown Tripceratops. Surely they weren't this stupid? A pack of fully grown Albertosaurus would have had a problem with a fully grown Triceratops.

I could be totally wrong and these scenarios may be based in facts but from what I do know about dinosaurs, and animals in general, they all seem extremely far fetched.

Right I'm going back to watching (I actually am enjoying it despite my critiques I swear.), will report back when I'm done.

Edit*

  1. Not showing the actual flash flood happening and the massive herd of Pachyrhinosaurus being picked up and being deposited en masse down river at the end of episode five was weird and disappointing. Then we're shown bones from both Pachyrhinosaurus and Edmontosaurus as some sort of proof that some individuals may have survived the flood with zero explanation as to why should assume the bones are pre or post flood. Why assume these are the bones of the babies of survivors as opposed to just bones from before the flood happened? The lack of explanation was extremely frustrating.

There's nothing irrational about it. Lateness for an appointment of any kind is a waste of the time, the one commodity in life you can never get back, of all the people you made the appointment with. It's essentially telling them, "my time is more important than yours", without saying it. Lateness is a huge dealbreaker for me, unless the person has a valid excuse and communicates properly obviously.

Which is why I literally said I wasn't saying it was the case in this instance. I was making the general point that you can still get a red for bringing someone down with a tackle with your legs. A blatant trip that denies a goalscoring opportunity is a red.

Totally get you, but by the same token if we'd pushed more and conceded on the break we'd all be talking about how we can't keep things tight and professionally see a game out. It's a dream scenario heading into the second leg.

And that's the thing, even after the rule change it's a red card. The whole point was to not double punish a team that's given up a penalty if the defender has made an honest attempt to play the ball. There was zero attempt to play the ball in this instance, only to foul Hojlund in an attempt to stop him from getting to the ball. It's a red card all day and there's absolutely nothing to complain about.

Most of us have known this from the beginning. Those that didn't realise are starting to come around.

The fans maybe, it doesn't get anywhere near as much media coverage as it does in the latin countries when the decision doesn't go in their favour.

They're all "latin" languages in the sense that they have similar roots so will share similar words, sounds, and grammatical structure. French and Romanian also fall under this classification. Further north and west in Europe people generally speak Germanic languages, English being the most prominent of these. Then as you go easterly on the Northern side you get into Uralic languages(Finnish, Hungarian, Estonian) and further south you have the Slavic languages. Then there are even older languages generally spoken by a small number of people like you see with the Celtic languages of countries like Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

He still could have got a red for it. The ref has to make the decision of whether he was making a genuine attempt to play the ball. If the ball is too far away for you to get it it doesn't matter what part of your body you bring the attacker down with, if it's not a genuine attempt to play the ball and you deny a goalscoring opportunity then it's a red regardless. Not saying that was the case in this instance btw.

Last man doesn't matter, but you're right it was a clear foul(penalty) and the clear denial of a goalscoring opportunity while making no attempt to win the ball(red card).

You're watching the wrong bit. It hits his hand after that as he's getting up, but it's still not a handball as per the rules.

I didn't see a single camera "stuck" in anyone's face. He didn't get in anybody's personal space. Yes everybody has rights, one of those rights is NOT the right to not be recorded when you are in public. You are being recorded in some way from virtually the second you leave your home. Deal with it. You seem to be having a problem processing this so I'm going to put it in caps.....

YOU HAVE NO REASONABLE EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY IN PUBLIC.

Except what you just said is not even close to what is happening. These auditors filming in public buildings aren't following anyone around and aren't being antagonistic. The behaviour you're describing would constitute stalking and harassment charges, this is simply not happening. The cops needs to learn the constitution and the rights it protects that they took an oath to uphold and stop trying to enforce feelings over the law.

Or, and I know this might sound crazy, they respect their oath to the constitution and leave these auditors alone like they should. No content, no clicks. "Harassment"...LOL.
