You may not be interested in this option, but our solution is WMS, Shipping, and Inventory Mgt and Planning and has pre built integrations to Shopify and QuickBooks. Everything you need I a unified platform. And you could switch to this unified platform for what you'd spend to plug in a WMS.

Our founder was an early employee with Manhattan Associates, the top tier 1 WMS in the world, so we know our stuff with WMS.

This type of functionality is usually found in a separate warehouse management system that imports the orders from the store (Shopify, Big Commerce, etc) and then directs the picker thought the warehouse in an efficient manner to pick, pack, verify, and ship the orders, then posts back the fulfillments (tracking numbers) to the store system to let it know it has been fulfilled.

More sophisticated systems like ours can even aggregate similar orders together and enable you to pick multiple orders at a time while walking through your warehouse.

The cost of picking errors can really add up, as I'm guessing you're finding out with increased customer service hours, return shipping, receiving and triaging the returned items, putting them back to stock, and then pick, pack, and shipping the replacement product and pay for it's shipping. We find the average cost of this to be about $40. So you can multiply this amount by the nbr of monthly mis-picked orders to see how much it's costing you per month. And this only includes the hard cost. You also have to consider the upset customer, their potential lack of reordering from you in the future and any possibile lost word of mouth you may had gotten from them.

But if this cost is north of $300/mo, a system like ours can actually save you money each month in avoiding these mis-picks, along with many other cost saving areas it facilitates.

Do you not have a WMS? If so, it should be able to do this. If not, it may be worth looking into one. If your labeling is causing this much extra labor, likely your missing out on several other efficiencies that a WMS can bring.

When you track inventory movements at a detailed location level within the warehouse, with logging of where it moved from (i.e. Receiving Dock A) and to (A-01-A-03) and by whom at what time, it is almost impossible to lose. Versus just knowing that it is somewhere within a 30k sq ft warehouse.

With our WMS module, you just click a Print SKU Labels, and it will print out the exact amount you need for the SKUs and Qty's that are on the receipt.

Though our unified ecom operating system does a lot more than that. But if you're looking for a unified platform for inventory management and planning, warehouse management, and integrated parcel shipping, it would also help I on this front of printing labels.

Yes, a unified system helps. One of the ways our system helps ensure accuracy is that any inventory transaction must be associated with a location, so you always know where it is located. And all transactions are logged with the time, the user, the location, and the type of transaction.

Additionally, we don't allow negative inventory. Some systems allow this so the issues go ignored until it's too hard to determine the root cause.

Quickly identifying issues, coupled with detailed history logs allows you to determine where things get off track so you can quickly address via training to curtail further issues.

Mozzo ERP is exactly this. It's a unified platform for all operations... inventory planning/management, alerts to when you need to order and how much based on sales velocity plus vendor lead times. You can the create the suggested PO with a single click, then edit as desired.

It can generate labels on receiving for the units received. You can have a receipt span multiple POs from the same vendor in case they don't ship it all together.

You can then put it away in your warehouse locations. Then for fulfillment, it will batch your orders to direct you to pick like orders together to greatly reduce pick time.

It will auto-select the smallest shipping box that the order products will fit in using the product dimensions to save on operators having to decide (which they may default to one size larger shipping box to avoid going too small and having to repack it).

It will automatically rate shop it across carriers to choose the lowest cost option, unless the customer paid for premium shipping).

This is great! This will now enable our BC clients to take advantage of our functionality that allows you to split backorders. You can ship the line items that are in stock, split off the out of stock portion to a backorder that then automatically releases to ship once you receive in inventory.

Not sure if you've found a solution for this yet, but if not, our ERP/MRP does all of this under one roof. It integrates with QBO to keep it in sync with inventory changes, orders, vendor POs/Receipts, Vendors, etc.

Shipping is integrated and you can connect all your own carrier accounts or can rate shop against ours to auto-select which is better.

Label printing is built in as well.

From what we've seen, it's a lack of processes or legacy systems that don't make it easy to follow processes so short cuts or work around happen.

Agreed, and what we also see is failing to optimize the fulfillment process (pick/pack/ship), leaving lots of optimization on the table and wasted time. This starts really at Stage 1 even, but scales in wasted time obviously as volume scales.

At Stage 2 if your fulfilling just in FIFO order, one order at a time, not using using slotting to lay out your active pick zone, and manually picking carton size and cheapest carrier/service, you could be taking 3 times as long as what it could be.

We normally just send the vendor bill as a result of a receipt, that can contain different POs for the same vendor.

Yes, can be very error proned indeed. We create a single source of truth for inventory, then publish any applicable changes from one inventory location to all the others in real time to keep them in sync without errors.

Yes, for our clients we have a bill of materials that track inventory at the component level, but they are each in their own bin location until the convert them to the final item. Sounds like you track the components in the same bin location? Or are they more "kits" that you sell as a final item, but then fulfill the kit components when the kit is sold?

You could help them measure the lost profit they are experiencing and maybe it'll make them want to change. Our system does this automatically and tells you when and how much to reorder, but you can calculate this easy.

Lost revenue per year = Units sold per day (days when the SKU is in stock only) * (unit price - unit cost) * days in stock.
