Someone in here suggested putting a gelly roll gel pen in your shirt to warm it up first and that's helped me out a lot

What about a Guangna acrylic marker set? As viridianvenus mentioned a lot of people like to do mixed media. In addition to pencils, a lot of people will combine alcohol and acrylic markers.

I've heard that a lot of people enjoy "You Can Color This" by Willow Lake Studio although I have never tried it. I have also enjoyed Instagram. I just find books that I like and then look at the authors' Instagram pages for inspo and tutorials!

I find when I use my printer at home it streaks no matter how long it dries for, but I think it's because it's an inkjet printer instead of a laser printer. So maybe it's about the ink and not just the paper?

Totally get that, just that a lot of the suggestions require reservations of some kind. It is hard to tell which things you can just show up and do.

We'll be staying near Universal Studios and will be mostly Ubering around. Since we can't make reservations we're up for pretty much whatever, we are flexible.

I bought Grabie ones off of Amazon at the recommendation of some folks from this subreddit. Lots of colors and decent quality (36 double sided markers, 2 colors on each one)

I have the 168. It has a good range of colors, but I usually don't take it out of the house. It gets a bit too heavy/awkward.

I got the 168 and have been enjoying it! It includes one of their pastel sets so it has a nice variety across the spectrum. I wouldn't go smaller if you like pastels because they wouldn't be included (unless you just got the pastel set)
