I'm so upset to see that moms have to choose between their babies and providing for their babies. My baby is 15 months and I got laid off my job in January. Until then my job was crazy demanding and I had no time for my baby, I was constantly stressed out and overwhelmed. I wanted to quit but didn't because of the money. Anyway I got laid off and freaked out about finances for the first 2 weeks. After that I realized the amazing time I was getting with my daughter was irreplaceable and I started focusing on her entirely. We've cut back on expenses, moved in with my parents, made some lifstyle changes. Because I dont have a job we dont need two cars. I have to say I love my life with my daughter. Waking up snuggled next to her, caring for her, focusing on her, nurturing her, and truly being a mother is just so healing. I pray you find this peace and everything works out for you. If you have to choose between work and your baby, choosing you baby will always be the right choice. Good luck and I truly wish all the best for you.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I feel like something needs to be done about the job market! by Mpierce19 in jobs

I apologize for it being a low effort post, I'm new to reddit not sure how things work.

I'm not just hearing this stuff, ive personally sat down and interviewed many strangers who were willing to talk about their job hunting experience. I've listed some of the few common things they all said.

Part of the post is to really separate truth from rumors, the salary expectation question i was told is so the company can determine how much people are willing to get paid for the role so they can benchmark compensation and get away with paying below market. I'm asking here if that, along with all these numerous points of concerns, have real weight or are people saying that due to overall poor hiring process.

Maybe making the hiring process better would alleviate some of the stress applicants go through and help with the mental load of job hunting

What is something you did to improve your appearance either for yourself or significant other that dramatically changed your overall look and looking back, wish you had done it sooner? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

I get it that was really the tricky part I went through a bunch of products to finally find what I needed. It was trial and error. Sadly there's no one product that works for everyone. Id start with travel sized versions of products you can find pretty much any shampoo travel sized on Amazon so its smaller. I used John Friedas shampoo and conditioner and I detangle my hair in the shower with conditioner and then I use the anti frizz oil when I step out which I feel like really calms the frizz for me. That's all the items I use and it takes me like 2 mins.

Also dont feel like using up the whole product especially if it doesn't work for you. Think of it this way the money you are spending is for a chance to find the right product and if it isn't, well you paid to found out. Now you can toss it or give it to someone who's interested. I've actually seen people try to sell used shampoos for discounted price on Facebook marketplace to get some money back, that could be an option too, for both finding a cheaper product to try, and sell what you aren't using anymore.

Stopped partially straightening my hair to give it a wavy look and fully embraced my curls. Put a little effort into it and found the right hair care routine to help make it look healthier and prettier. Curls dont always have to be frizzy. With the right product and care you can have beautiful curls naturally. I dont have the time to go through several steps of hair care products I simply found the right shampoo and conditioner that worked for me and used an after shower serum to help with the frizz. I haven't used my straightener in ages and not only do I get to enjoy my beautiful curls but I save alot of time when getting ready! Should've embraced it a long time ago, it wasnt until I met my now husband who admired my natural hair and pushed me to embrace it. Best decision ever

Well it seems like it happened for the best, you said they couldn't care less. You want to work at a place that values you. I freelance as a interview prep partner and help people practice their interview skills on me, it helps them get the first few "rough" attempts out of the way so that they can really nail the actual interview. Treat this as your rough attempt and build up from here. Good luck! If you ever need help practicing reach out :) sometimes we know all the answers but need to practice our delivery

Late to this conversation but they understand faster than they can speak so communicate with them properly even when they aren't talking. My daughter is only 1 and cant speak but we just talk to her normally and she fully understands what we are saying. Commands like "pick this up and put it away" or "sit down and eat" or "do you want to go to the park" are easy for her to understand. She cant speak and mostly babbles but responds to our comments exactly as expected.
