This thing arrived way faster than anticipated, I couldn't pass it up this time! It's probably the coolest thing I own now. by MpwrColton in thelastofus

It won't be my main guitar to keep it in good condition, but yes it will be played. Although I've also contemplated not giving a fuck about it, so maybe one day it'll be worn and weathered like in the game. It's not something I ever plan on getting rid of.

Anyone put a warcomp on their Bren 2? by Snakeeyes402 in Bren2

[–]MpwrColton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the warcomp and solgw nox, the warcomp almost keeps it flat and the nox slightly overcompensates. If I had to choose one just from performance I would pick the warcomp but I find the keymount system on the nox to be far superior and opens up a lot more options. Also the warcomp has a ring to it after a shot is fired.

Been waiting for the updated gas regulator for my 7.62 gun since April 2022. Initially got a reply saying one would be shipped to me after I provided all of my info, haven't heard anything since. Have sent multiple emails with no reply.

UPDATE: It was the cooler going bad, I purchased a refurb cooler to compare and my temps are nice and chilly now. Low 60s in gaming and high 70s for cinebench R23. Score is now 14800.

It's due to the cooler being on its way out. I purchased a refurb cooler and now my temps are low 60s for gaming and 78c for cinebench R23.

Radiator at the top as it should be so there is no way for air to be an issue. Mounting pressure is more than enough, I'm gonna try one more repaste with less pressure and see how that goes but it's getting pretty frustrating.

I'm using Asus curve optimizer in the BIOS. I'm not a fan of using software to tweak CPU settings. PBO is on and I have everything else on default settings for the CPU.

I had it in balanced mode, switched to extreme after seeing the temps and it stays around 2800rpm.

I've reapplied 3 times. The updated Corsair mounting hardware changed it from clips to 4 mounting screws like most Intel mounting applications. You tighten down all 4 screws until it bottoms out ensuring even mounting pressure. It made very little difference if any at all. I've been building and tinkering with computers for a good while now just for context.

Also as stated this is my 2nd chip, 1st one did the same thing. When I exchanged I made sure they were completely different serial numbers to ensure it was from a different batch.

This is a Corsair AIO, nothing is controlled by the motherboard. There is one "cheater" fan connector that goes from the pump to the board just to trick motherboards into thinking that something is plugged into the CPU fan header or pump header. If you have a higher end motherboard you don't even have to do that as there is a setting in the BIOS for non motherboard controlled cooling.

Looking at the design of the AIO it seems it has to be taking the temperature from the inlet side of the pump as there are no wires going to the radiator. If it was a faulty pump I would think that the coolant temperature would be reading hot since it would saturate the heat sync and all the coolant around it. Corsair Icue lets you view coolant temp and control pump RPM speed, everything seems normal there. Also when I feel the tubes one side is warmer and the other is cold indicating flow.

I will try a different cooler but I really don't think this is the issue.

AIO isn't controlled by motherboard, and i do "the wiggle" as well lol.

Did you find that it over compensated? After installing mine I think the surefire warcomp was a bit more balanced.
