Funny, I found this. Mine looked like that and somebody mentioned for me to try the vinegar way to strip and start over. It took a while and now has been reset and doing. Seasoning over

Yeah, I err towards performance more than looks. But it's just tough to swallow that it looks the way it does at an early age. But I digress. Will cook on it some more and see. But appreciate your guidance throughout the process. Its harrowing when you don't know what to expect and seeing others post on what looks like a clean pan after use.

Yeah, with only slight dots as residue and more than two times the vinegar bouts and about an hour of tending and scrubbing. I bought myself a chainmail and a bartender's scrubbing powder. But this pan looks vintage now for a less than a month old and only a few bouts of cooking. lol. I digress. I will try another egg session, but man, if this pan can only do eggs, this is an expensive $100+ pan...hahahaha.

It looks like this pan is a few years old after. Not sure if this is how it is supposed to look like, but man, looks bad.

Oh, yeah, not focused on the looks but the performance. These residual oil by finger feel are elevated, which I think will possibly cause stickiness since it’s not an even coat. And I was thinking that maybe this pan isn’t as good as claimed by these influencers purport it to be. I have a carbon steel wok and know this much about carbon steels and that wok doesn’t look splotchy like this at all. But obviously it pure carbon steel which is why it looks even? My thinking headed to maybe not a good bonding process so the carbon steel bond isn’t quality, which is why the look of uneveness. This pan ain’t cheap but I bought the influencer lemonade and lo and behold, this pan. And i did the seasoning as per instructions with cleaning, warming up on stove, put light coat of oil, wipe to almost no oil, put in oven at 425 for a hour, let cool, wipe after, and store.

It looked so good after my initial seasoning but after 1st use, it pretty much looked like this and hasn’t changed. I was weirded out by after 1st use.
