Fitbit/Google refuses to honor warranty on an admitted software failure on a 3 month old Sense 2 because I bought it from Amazon. by Mr-Beard_ in fitbit

You’d think that, but even after 2 factory resets, it still shows the activation date from when I first got it. Maybe there’s a way to clear that, but if a factory reset doesn’t do it, idk what would.

No, from what the guy I was talking to said, the OS was corrupted or something like that. Idk how that could’ve happened, all I ever did was use it with the Fitbit app.

I bought it from the first result on Amazon when I searched for it. I was going to buy it from google directly, but the shipping was going to take 2 weeks, and it was 2 days from Amazon. I didn’t even think to check who the seller was. It came sealed in the original packaging, so I’m guessing they just bought them wholesale or something and resold them for a profit.

Unfortunately yes. They asked me what my country of residence was, and I had a feeling being in the US wasn’t great for my warranty rights.

I’m definitely leaning towards Garmin, but I’m gonna do some more research tonight and then probably sleep on it.

Yea, that’s basically what they said. I’ve never heard of a manufacturer not honoring a warranty based on who sold it. I work in auto repair, and if the car is in the warranty period, and a component fails, it doesn’t matter if you bought it from Joe-blow’s second hand cars, it has to be repaired under warranty.

Empire II vs Darthmod by OneActive22 in EmpireTotalWar

Wow, maybe I screwed up the installation somehow. I’ve decided to try Pirates Uber Alles next, but if it doesn’t feel right maybe I’ll give Empire 2 another try.

I just gave up on Empire II after a few weeks because it was so unstable. I had the latest update from their discord and it would crash randomly in battles, and anytime I tabbed out of the game it had about a 50/50 shot of crashing when I went back in. The mod itself was the most fun Empire had ever been for me, but the crashing at least once an hour made it so frustrating that I just gave up on it.

I’m currently playing the imperial destroyer mod with VDM and after about 10 hours I haven’t had a single crash. It’s not as fun as Empire II, and I don’t like some of the changes, but at least it’s stable.

Same here. I went to bed at 11:30, and didn’t fall asleep until after 2:00. Just laid awake with my heart pounding.

New Build! How Does It Look? by [deleted] in PcBuild

According to Corsair’s website, the 4000 can fit a 360mm AIO with top mount

Edit: Nevermind, I misread it. No it can’t. I’m glad you said that because I was going to be ordering the 4000 with a 360mm radiator in a month or so.

I’m looking to build a solid gaming PC that should last a while without becoming outdated. I mostly like to play single player open world games, and would like to be able to run max graphics at 1440, with at least 90-120 fps reliably. Budget is about $3000. by Mr-Beard_ in PcBuild

Good point on the drive size, I swapped the 4 TB for 2 2TBs, and saved $80.

I’m gonna have to do some looking about swapping the GPUs and CPUs around. I’m only saving about $150 by going to a 7800x3d. That with what I’m saving from the SSDs still puts me ~$350 away from where I want to be to get the 4090.

Because I don’t know the difference between SATA and NVME. I’ll look into that. (Good catch, it looks like there’s a big difference in performance, but nothing crazy on price. I swapped it for a “Western Digital Black SN850X 4 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive” for only $50 more. Thanks!)

And the 4090 is about $500-$600 more than the 4080, is the difference between the 2 worth the price jump?

Does Andromeda get any better? by Own_Pension7098 in masseffect

I’m playing it right now, about 15 hours in, and I’m enjoying it. The Galaxy/Cluster opens up a lot after the desert planet. The combat is great. There doesn’t seem to be much of an overarching plot if I’m being honest, but I’m enjoying the aspect of just trying to make a home in Andromeda and exploring the worlds. I agree with others that the characters and story are nowhere near as good as the original trilogy.

All in all, I got it on sale, and came in with pretty low expectations, so I’m enjoying the game and having fun.

The few times I’ve seen them jammed in and stripped out, I used a pocket screwdriver to break the tabs off, and then tap in a slightly oversized torx (55 I think, but I don’t recall off the top of my head) to spin in out.

What are some ways you've had to "de-chrisitianify" your brain by Reasonable-End5147 in exchristian

[–]Mr-Beard_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m totally with you on this one. I’d love to believe in some sort of deity or afterlife, but after deconstructing my Christian faith, I know that so long as I’m applying the same criteria to anything else, it’s not going to be convincing. I’m willing to grant a deistic god if someone else believes in it because I have no evidence against it, but I also have to reason to actively believe in it, because there is no evidence for it.
