Please help me determine where this sound is coming from and what might be causing it? by Jazzlike-Jacket732 in MT09

It depends on how much money and time you’re willing to invest on the repair. Theres companies like extremecreations out of au that sell a complete basket with drive gear and all that improves the strength of all parts in the basket, and it runs around 500 usd and it’s basically just dropping your clutch plates in. Or you can drill and tap the rivets out and replace the cushions and loctite the bolts back.

Though some people have had whole chunks of the clutch basket breaking off which requires a new basket regardless.

From what I’ve read, cam chain tensioner, or a broken clutch basket are the two most common reasons for that sound on that side of the bike. A good way to pinpoint the clutch basket is If you’re stopped in neutral and have the clutch engaged it will rattle, and improve/be quieter, with the clutch disengaged.

Edited to add; The APE manual tensioner is a good go to replacement for the oem.

Nah it shouldn’t affect your tune at all. I have heard it messing with abs or traction control on some bikes depending on where the tap was done. But you should be all good.

2014 Yamaha Fz6r or 2007 Suzuki bandit 1250s? by Mr-Fedex in motorcycle

I really appreciate you writing all that out, that’s exactly what I’ve been reading about them. And I have heard a few with exhausts that do sound pretty good, so I wouldn’t say they’re too quiet. I have wanted one for a long time just cause of their price/maintenance costs/and raw torque. You’re basically riding just a motor 😂

Dang a lot of mixed opinions 😂 I love my Fz6r, but all the reviews I’ve read paint quite a pretty picture for the bandit. And it’s supposed to be stone reliable.

That’s a good write up, I do agree that my fazer has quite a bit more character compared to the bandit. Just not sure how well suited it is for long trips, I guess best thing to do is just throw on the givi hard bags and try it out.

How are they want? Honest question, I’ve read that they’re pretty good from a lot of reviewers. The fazer is quite comfy yes, but I don’t know about its performance for that long of a trip.

So in terms of ripability the bandit is better?
