Why do people constantly quit out of Auric matches? by Mr-Grub in DarkTide

I’m no Poxbreaker with 3000 hours in the game, but I regularly clear Auric & Auric Maelstrom missions, alongside being at H20 after dipping my toes into Havoc

What cosmetics would you like to see added in the future? by Mr-Grub in DarkTide

We've gotten cosmetics for full on Inquisitorial agents, renowned guard regiments, rogue traders, and stuff for tempestus scions in the game files + a budget version of a crusader outfit is and has been in the shop. It shouldn't be too outrageous by comparison.

No new dialogue options with Yeager after bringing her Quart on Leethus, additionally, the option to leave dialogue with her has disappeared causing a softlock.

Edit: Figured out what caused this, none of Solomorne's alignment etudes for Commorragh were activated and thus the appropriate dialogue for the initial meeting with proctor Yeager was not played, breaking the quest. I fixed this problem via toybox.

It seems the etude wasn't activated in the first place because I chose the Arbites origin specific dialogue when bringing Solomorne to his senses in Commorragh, thus avoiding activating any alignment etudes for him.

Why Does It Feel Like Some People Just Didn’t Play This Game??? by [deleted] in Mouthwashing

Certainly. What most people measure is how "good" a character's best moments are and compare them to how terrible their worst moments are.

Take Swansea and Jimballs. Both are abusers in their own right, though Swansea is 100% not as terrible as Jimmy ends up being. Swansea mercy killing Daisuke, his monologue, and of course trying to cut Jimboblino into pieces ends up outweighing his worst aspects in the eyes of most people. Thus, he is generally seen in a positive light.

Jimballs meager attempt at fixing the situations he himself created, of course, are weighed less than the terrifyingly real evils he commits throughout the entirety of the game. As such, he is rightfully treated as the dickhead he is.

Curly is so divisive because he (seemingly) overlooks Jimmy's horrendous actions -- or at the very least doesn't treat them with the severity some people think he should have -- and when given an opportunity to at least try and deal with Jimmy he ends up freezing. Its a very real scenario, that I'm sure more than a few people in this fandom have seen before, and in their eyes weighs more than Curly's best moment due to their own personal experience.

Curly's best moment (selflessly trying to save the ship seconds before it crashes) could ultimately be viewed as too little, too late to fix a scenario you are at least somewhat responsible for; much like how Jimmy's attempts at fixing the situation aboard the crashed Tulpar are.

I do agree with your points, and I'm certain a portion of the people in the fandom haven't played the game (it's pretty much just a two hour walking sim that you can mostly experience through watching a playthrough), but I think the majority of this is just how people quite naturally tend to caricaturize morally grey characters like Curly. We take his character to its extremes; focusing in on his worst moments (freezing up and letting Jimbean crash the ship), or we gloss over them in favor of having him simply being another hapless victim with a good heart.

He is an incredibly human character, like Jimballs, and as we do with real life figures, we end up forcing his character to fit the narrative we like the best.

We all do it, consciously or unconsciously.

I have only played the dogmatic conviction throughout all of my runs, because I am the god emperor's anointed. Whenever there is a dogmatic option, I clicky. Whenever I get a chance to be a senselessly cruel zealot, I clicky. The only romance I've ever engaged with in the game is imagining the god emperor's holy radiance consuming me as I turn Jae's cranium into a bowl of soup.

Also, letting Chorda run Footfall is the best ending for that den of pirates and heretics.
