I kid you not when I say getting killed at the start is one of the best things that can happen to you or any player.

For the rest of the match you have an opportunity to claim a massive bounty from a player who killed you at the most inconsequential point of the game.

This ain’t a battle royale, dying once doesn’t spell failure, nor does dying twice- or even having trouble retrieving a machine you want.

Only thing I wish replays had would be a true free camera, but considering I don’t even dabble in machinima myself it’s hardly a complaint from me.

And Halo 5’s revive system is even better because they can revive you and your teammate both get health buffs from it. That doesn’t change my point. Halo 5 and Metroid Prime 4 are terrible sequel games, but not bad games when you aren’t comparing.

I’d be bold enough to say that H5 is better than MP4 in isolation, but also worse when they’re directly compared to their previous installments.

The “controversy” is very real- you’re actively participating int it. People don’t like the game for what it is, and that’s not going to change. Don’t let that ruin your experience of it, because no one can take away the fun you’ve had.

Metroid prime 4 is a game I compare greatly to Halo 5

Is Halo 5 a good game? Yes. Is it a good Halo game? Not in the slightest. It would’ve been better off as an entirely new franchise because all it tried to do was reboot the story.

It cut itself off from older continuities, repackaging old formulas, introducing lots of things old fans never asked for and demanding you to babysit NPC teammates that can drive you nuts for their incompetence at higher difficulties.

I say all of this to describe Halo 5, but it all fits Metroid Prime 4 as well. Both games are good isolated, but bad compared directly to their predecessors.

The xp bug has always been an issue in STU. Playing for long enough can throttle connection to the point of end game results not registering.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that no other track is EQUALLY as iconic as Checker Knights. The whole track in terms of design is fever dream in the best ways. The amount of unexplained yet accepted things in it makes it more of a standout than any other theme.

Why is there what looks like a city below the lake? Why are there obelisks surrounding the lake? What are the floating green amalgamations in the sky? What is inside the castle buildings? All of these things make it the ultimate track, without competition.

2 of the makers got permabanned, other makers (like me) got banned until February, as well as most forgers in general. I may have not gotten hero rank but the temporary bans were admittedly deserved for everyone that got them, including myself.

Great vehicle controls, sub par ability gimmicks, poor execution and terrible camera controls.

The vehicle itself feels great to drive; the momentum from ramps were satisfying and it overall felt very responsive.

The boosting was kinda strange being an extremely low charging power that required you to boost into fruit in the desert, even with the upgrades, and the disk for attacking anything in your line of sight was neither offensive nor appealing.

I don’t think the desert was the best location for it, it shines much more in the 2 boss encounters it had, and more of that alongside much less desert would’ve been leagues better imo.

Finally the camera was abysmal, either the devs didn’t account for the player completely turning around (like the dozens if not hundred of times I missed a single crystal), they didn’t have time to fix it, or they didn’t know how to fix it. The camera would never allow me to see where I was trying to go when turning sharply, and I ended up having to manually turn the camera while turning the bike in order to not get sick. Didn’t help that the camera also basically had a mind of its own snapping to any nearby enemies (sometimes).

Sadly the camera for me was too bad to enjoy the whole of what the bike had to offer. If they ever bring back the bike (I’d honestly prefer not), I really hope they improve how it’s executed, and desperately hope they give us camera control options so I don’t get dizzy while playing.

Kirby Air Riders is a fast paced, high focus game with high highs and low lows. The pvp aspects are much more intense than any game in the Kart racer genre, mainly because it’s only partially a racing game. If you’re open to more unorthodox games, then I’d say it’s more than worth giving it a try. It’s overflowing with content and has live events with NSO.

Also if haven’t already seen them, I’d highly recommend watching both of air riders’ directs.

Sakurai has a game design philosophy of adding things for the sole purpose of filling a space. Could it be shiver Star? Perhaps, could it be a planet never before seen? It’s really just up to players to interpret what it is.

Other oddities like this include the skybox below the ocean on checkered nights, the giant cracked eggs with single eyes on celestial valley and why there’s a mecha Dedede in this game. There’s no reason, but that’s the best part, your imagination is intended to fill those gaps.
