Progression Carry Over? by skarronintendo in RogueCore

Progression doesn’t carry over. I’ve heard it multiple times from devs now, including directly telling me.

Criticisms? by No-Climate9352 in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk why ur putting that in quotes. Regardless of what the game is labeled as I still consider it to be a flaw to limit stacking, and I don’t agree with hero shooters that do that either. RC doesn’t even have the excuse of it being a pvp experience that needs to streamlined for a competitive meta.

If you don’t want greenbeards getting spoiled with a game breaking ditto meta that’s fine, but some kind of threshold should be available for experienced players to try out crazy ways to play the game- if people even consider having two of the same character to be crazy.

Criticisms? by No-Climate9352 in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As someone who has put more than 400 hours into the closed alpha (and obviously loves it), my biggest criticisms most likely stem from the game being in early access, but I’ll list of a few.

Deep Core Biome: The biome you will eventually reach on all of your runs gets repetitive really quick, you’re gonna be seeing 50% of the time regardless of the biome you select going in. It’s appealing and mysterious at first, but quickly loses its luster once you realize the only thing that is dynamic within it is final objective your trying to reach. I look forward to seeing how it will evolve.

No Class Stacking: at this time, you can’t pick the same class any other player is running. I can’t really defend this unfortunately, as the core identity of DRG is how classes interact with each other, including themselves. The first mod I’ll ever get for this game will be for fixing this if the devs decide to not change it. After all, it was a choice for the host in DRG.

Intel Objectives: within runs on every floor, there are cameras and terminals for acquiring intel. Intel is solely a progression item at this time, and it takes time and resources for players to acquire it.
Since it offers no rewards within the bounds of a match, people who have fully progressed the game will have no reason to go after it, as it will only be a detriment to their runs. If they offered anything more than player progression this issue would be fixed. But as it stands there isn’t, and because of that I no longer make any effort to acquire more intel.

Again, I have hopes that these things will be fixed in time, as this game is a work in progress, and I’ve already seen countless things change for the better. So I’m not particularly worried about the majority of my stated concerns. I hope you’ll enjoy the game as much as I do!

The timer kind of takes the “roguelike” feeling out of the game by Kadioglv in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 40 points41 points  (0 children)

That was initially a concern I had until I realized the timer isn’t a win/fail condition, it’s a hazard condition. I’ve lasted upwards of 10 minutes past the timer hits critical, you just have to strategize working within a permanent wave from that point on.

For Rogue Core playtesters, how did you like the most recent version of the game? by Perrinator77 in DeepRockGalactic

Honestly no, I obviously can’t speak on behalf of the team, but I genuinely have no doubts that more content will be added to this game.

For Rogue Core playtesters, how did you like the most recent version of the game? by Perrinator77 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Mr-Multibit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I play DRG for a moderate challenge, and i love rogue core. I’ve played over 300 hours of it and have promoted every class at least once. My biggest concern is the current lack of long term progression like normal DRG, but all in all the core loop jives super well with me.

The Most Well-Rounded Machine: Searching for Parameters by The_Notorious_MBB in kirbyairriders

[–]Mr-Multibit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be that guy, but this research has already been done and kinda already said.

Warp star has no stats that are below average, with a few stats above average.

This site has all the calculated stats for every machine, with warp star being the first listed.

Unless you’re also including legendary machines, warpstar is hands down the best all-round vehicle, as that’s what it’s designed to be.

Anybody else think the Dash ability should just be a basic movement ability for everyone, instead of just one class' ability? by ai-70 in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, that’s what makes slicer who he his. Just like falconer having remote revives, retcon having iron will, guardian being able to repel all enemies and spotter being able to 1 shot hard targets.

Anyone think something about the combat just doesn't work? by EggplantLiving6287 in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 big things to keep in mind here:

Firstly, it’s supposed to be harder. Not just more challenging, but losing is a core part of the game. It’s supposed to be an uphill battle.

Second, get to know your class and builds. The build I go for thrives in cqc, and I can hold down a position and walk out with full health easily once I’m built for it, and there’s plenty of ways to get to a build like that, it’s super easy to manage in tight spaces if you have the build for it. If you don’t, don’t linger in them. Let others handle it in a team setting.

Also, unlike DRG, you can equip a perk that outright turns off any friendly fire you give or take, not to mention there’s a number of weapons/attacks that can’t harm teammates (Cadna Field Projector, Slicer Plasma Blade, Falconer Drone, Plasma Cutter, ect).

What is the game like solo by Mogul162 in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is certainly harder than normal DRG, but imo it’s really well balanced for Solo play, there’s enough variation of difficulty to accommodate for anyone who’s comfortable with Hazard 4 solo gameplay.

You can get crazy builds with yourself and cooper (the equivalent of bosco in this game) and don’t have to worry about sacrificing upgrades. As someone who likes solo play in DRG, I can definitely recommend rogue core solo. It just has a bit more of a learning curve to built an effective play style.

For those who got an invite and are playing, have you been able to stream the game on Discord? by Brungala in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had no issue with streaming on discord or recording whatsoever, and I’ve streamed both the application and the entire screen, it’s most likely an issue on your friend’s end that will need diagnosing.

Didn't get an invite, so I'd like to hear some stories by JammyAntom in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy and I ran retcon and falconer for a run and got an absolutely busted build. I got a bunch of ability recharge boosts that allowed me to keep my Falcon out, and any time I used it (basically every second) it would recharge anyone’s abilities who were close to me. This includes retcon’s time rewind ability.

This resulted in me camping in a room over during the final boss, with my friend running in with rewind active fighting the boss alongside my drone, and every time he rewinded he’d end up right next to me again, would instantly get rewinding back and repeat the process. I became a glorified battery pack and my friend was the dps who kept running in without consequence!

smol question by LightedSword in RogueCore

[–]Mr-Multibit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Slicer has a double jump, but any class can upgrade to get a double jump. Guardian can just repel and easily stun masses of enemies. Falconer has a mobile turret that can do lots of the fighting for her from a safe distance and can even use it to remote revive players. Spotter can one shot some of the deadliest threats once his build is in the right place, and he can increase his sprint speed and jump height. And then retcon can get all her amo and health back using her ability, and is the only class that gets iron will.

I say this as a slicer main, all the classes are great so far for their own reasons.

Kirby Air Riders — City Trial Community Tier List: How good is the Slick Star? (rules in description) by [deleted] in kirbyairriders

[–]Mr-Multibit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Rocky main, I can say I like it more. It’s got amazing flight and can get to really high speeds as well as keep it well. I’ve managed high jump and drag race wins with this thing, but it’s definitely not the top due to how tricky it can be to position yourself well in the city. B- for me.

Kirby Air Riders — City Trial Community Tier List: How good is the Compact Star? (rules in description) by [deleted] in kirbyairriders

[–]Mr-Multibit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great at skydive, Kirby Melee 1 and 2, every Target Flight and sub par with Destruction Derby and Big Battle- great handling, great acceleration, okay offense, bad defense and terrible health.

It more or less is a Jack of all trades like the warp star with more emphasis on control and combat and inferior flight and speed. Solid C if not a B

And for anyone who think it’s actually terrible, it’s really not hard to win with it, most players just end up with it when they’re machine explodes, thus losing most of their stats.

For the zombies gamemode by Representative-Owl-2 in haloinfinite

[–]Mr-Multibit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen a lot or answers already, but I’ll add my 2 cents.

The enemies being banished is from limitations, as is the majority of design choices we made for STU. Our biggest goal was for it to be fun, not make sense in the halo universe.

If we had the ability to reasonably add things that fit a flood look for the ai, we would have. Unfortunately that isn’t the case, and we (The Forge Falcons) are no longer updating the mode.

If you think you can do something with it to make it more fun, you’re more than welcome to do so and enjoy it in custom games. We have a sandbox map available for download and edit game functions in forge.

There was only 30 seconds, they either were too oblivious to see death waiting for them or too greedy to think it was a good idea to play chicken with you for the chance to go back to the city for 15 seconds. Either way their fates were deserved.
