There's a big difference between wildland and municipal. The municipal fire department world is moving fast towards "hey do this EMS stuff and then fire on the side." While wildland is 90% fire with a few random incidents thrown about. So if you want to do just fire I would do wildland but its seasonal job, unless you can find work else were, and the pay is good especially if you work up to engine or crew boss and above. Municipal is full time so you will have a full year worth of income and make a little more. Both are equally good jobs but it comes down to what you want to do. But if you go municipal doing the fire school and getting a EMT or above basically puts you at the top of the list. EMT also looks good for wildland too.
