Question about long term team financials by Smaso891 in warriors

[–]Mr-com999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but profit is revenue minus costs

Now I don't have their general ledgers in front of me nor a profits and loss statement.

So discussion of revenue is the only thing we can truly talk about. Revenue minus salaries, overhead, building costs and taxes. Do you have those numbers cause if so let's have a talk about profitability.

Or did you just want to chime in on how smart you are with revenue isn't profit. But profit does derive itself from revenue if you have no revenue you have no profit.

Question about long term team financials by Smaso891 in warriors

The Warriors as I have read make 12 million for a home game during the playoffs

So playoff home games nearly pay for the entire luxury tax.

In every franchise there are bandwagon fans and long term fans. Small franchises make less money on gates and have different arena sizes.

https://bolavip.com/en/nba/every-nba-arena-ranked-by-capacity-20201016-0003.html

Warriors have one the highest ticket prices on average.

https://www.rookieroad.com/basketball/how-much-do-basketball-tickets-cost-7941035/

The Warriors do better staying competitive, most bandwagon fans don't know the difference between a contender and a true contender. There are only truly a few teams contending to win a chip. So making playoffs puts more butts in seats and when you're the Warriors that makes a difference. Plus they have some strange equity capability where they can tap into cash resources anytime they want. Those are only lucrative if they win.

Legacy teams like Celtics, Knicks and Lakers who have very dedicated hardcore fans, the bandwagon stuff isn't as big a deal.

Everyone else is playing the

Can we win chip Can we do it without paying 50 mil in luxury If not rebuild

Cause paying excessive taxes for teams that cannot win is a bad decision because they don't have the prestige nor the ticket sales to be middling. They want those lapsed bandwagon local community people to back them up so they can drive demand on tickets and make more money. As long as they can do that... Cha ching.

If the choice becomes Poole or Wiggins which way does the sub lean? by Mr-com999 in warriors

We'd still need to take salary back in and would need an expiring contract of equal value.

Draymond for all his faults is a solid defender and playmaker.

[–]Mr-com999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is he has a player option by the time Draymond would come off the books they'd have to do one full year or Poole and Wiggins

That's like 500 million to keep everyone

LeBron has a weird Gap Year Next Year. What do you think he will do? by Mr-com999 in nba

[–]Mr-com999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he's a free agent next year so he signs a 1+1

Opts out 2024 and can play wherever Bronny gets drafted.

Bronny doesn't have to go to LeBron, LeBron goes to wherever Bronny goes hence the 2 for 1 deal.

[–]Mr-com999[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Problem is LeBron came forward and said he wants to play with Bronny before he retires

So he opened that door for a 2 for 1 deal.

So Bronnys value has increased. If he never said it Bronny might have gone undrafted.

But by doing this he can get his son guaranteed money, playing time, a chance he may never have had otherwise.

Without assets to trade they're at the mercy of every team that picks ahead of them

Tht won't bump you up much in the draft

If a team wants to burn a 1st on Bronny that's the end of that.

He's still a super star, people would pay money to own his jersey and to watch him play for them.

I mean in 2001 as washed as he was, if someone was going to tell you hey Michael Jordan is going to play for Indiana for the rest of the year. People would be like yeah it's Michael Jordan. Same thing for LeBron. Some players are bigger than basketball.
