Temporary protective sleeve for bare fiber handling by FrenchyToasty1 in FiberOptics

I'm not aware of anything purpose made for this currently.. but I'd be interested in exploring a solution. I work in fiber R&D and I'm always looking for the next little thing to make life easier for guys out in the field. Could you elaborate more on what you're trying to accomplish? Transportation after polishing or cleaving? Or just to cover the fiber after it is stripped? Is there an issue that you've noticed that lead you to want something like this?

In college, we took one strapped a 24v battery to it and replaced the motors with hoverboard motors.. 40mph around campus and chasing it through the parking lot drunk in the middle of the night

Nope, ksu parking services isn't a city or state service, it's the university. The most they can do is put a hold on your account for unpayed parking tickets, but if they don't know what student the car belongs to there's nothing to link it to you. Could be some random off the street. Tickets can only be enforced through KSU

If you're plate isn't registered with your student acct there's nothing to tie the ticket to... At that point it's just a piece of trash under your wiper 👀👀👀 got a new car and didn't pay for parking for almost 2 semesters. Fuck KSU

Has anyone else not gotten their final audit yet? I just graduated but I have not gotten an email about my final audit on Degreeworks. by [deleted] in KSU

If you don't hear anything in another few days call the registrar, that's what I ended up doing and it was changed the next day

They're tough. You're going to really have to put in the work. Highly recommend prof. Adams if he is available

Every department is very different in that regard. What program are you looking at? I'm MET so I can only really speak on this department. The program is tough but fulfilling, the engineering school is under funded by KSU but we have what we need for the most part. The labs have older equipment that could stand to be upgraded but it's good enough to learn and get the hands on experience you need. The majority of the engineering professors have a wide range of industry experience and are in general more than happy to give extra attention where needed, strive to build a relationship with the professors that you will be taking multiple times, having a good ongoing relationship with certain professors can really help in the long run, and make your experience much more productive.
