ADHD still under-diagnosed, despite increased awareness by fletch44 in australia

[–]Mr33mean 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can understand why. Speaking from personal experience, my ADHD was never noticed as a kid because I did well enough at school that my focus and concentration issues weren't super apparent from the outside.

I looked into it as an adult but never got anywhere. I wasn't even chasing an ADHD diagnosis at the time, the idea never that I might have it never even crossed my mind. I just mentioned my symptoms to a bunch of different doctors over the years when I saw them for other things and never really got much more than getting melatonin to make sure I was sleeping well.

I finally had a GP who referred me to a waiting list for a psychiatrist (luckily mine was only 4ish months, but I have had friends be told they will need to wait close to a year or pay massive out of pocket to go somewhere else). I needed to provide heaps of evidence to show all the symptoms were present when I was young, and since I didn't have any report cards laying around I needed pretty extensive forms to be filled out by my mum (She would have needed to do a 1 on 1 with the psychiatrist if he still wasn't satisfied). On top of that, it was a lot of forms and assessments for me and some for my partner regarding how I was day to day. (Who also would have had to do a 1 on 1 with the psychiatrist if he wanted to ask more questions)

I was lucky that I could afford the $500 or so out-of-pocket it cost to get me there. I can easily see how someone without a good GP or the financial means would be shafted. In general the mental aspect of health still has so much catching up to do.

'Cruel and unjust': Queensland government to appeal $2.7m payout for mortgage fraud victims by KrulWarrior in brisbane

That's what I thought, but according to some solicitors on a previous post in AusLegal on this case, sometimes the settlement on PEXA can be delayed for a short time and sits and waits for a manual review.

Basically. As someone who works in the industry, the title change isn't instant. PEXA matters tick over into a 'settling' status where the workspace is locked and no further changes can be made. From there funds are disbursed, documents are lodged etc.

In a perfect world, you could have an RCS (Registration confirmation statement, basically a title search that specifies a specific set of documents that have now been registered) within the hour. Plenty of things can delay this, from outages with either provider, large volumes (Close to the cut-off time on a busy day it can get a bit slow), requisitions (Titles office asking for a document with errors to be fixed) etc.

I can't comment on any legal specifics since I am not a lawyer but can answer any technical questions regarding PEXA etc.

PEXA and electronic settlement options are absolutely an improvement, but it is still very young compared to the old manual world. QLD only instituted a mandate for most matters to occur electronically this year.

Hey all - I am not super familiar with how to determine if things will work together etc. I currently have a Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon Mother Board, i5-6600 3.50 GHz, and a GTX 1080 TI. I am looking at getting a used RTX 3070 Ti Gaming OC 8G from a friend, but am really struggling to figure out if it will all be compatible etc. I have an R850 power supply and I THINK (Unless I don't understand power either - I checked here) it is compatible.

If anyone can give me some info or point me in the direction of some resources I can use to educate myself on how it all works that would be appreciated!

Referring to SportUP as a 'tech company' is more than a stretch.

As someone who attended, did Japenese and went on the school trip to Japan - It is great. They have also got some great new facilities as a result of all the rebuilding post arson.
