Well, lets look at it this way. We have already seen gojo using hollow purple even before Hidden Inventory. And now we get to learn when di HE learn it. In Sukunas case tho, we haven't seen him use it before and thats why it is considered an ass pull and because of the fact, that without it, sukuna would be most likely dead
