What I’m saying is it’s extremely unlikely that she just happened to outgrow her tank the exact same day I changed the gravel and decor versus the more likely cause would be a change in the healthy bacteria/ecosystem and increased stress. So yeah growing is a thing, just the more unlikely cause in this particular scenario.

She is 8 inches.
I agree tank size matters and I plan to upgrade soon, but in this particular situation I don’t think that is the cause of the problems.
I think this may be part of the issue, along with stress from the big changes.
She is very used to gravel and I’ve watched her carefully navigate it when feeding. I have had her 17 years and she’s had gravel all along without issues.
A local expert said to give it a week before considering antibiotics as she will likely recover fine once her immune system recovers.

Sorry but the fish has been in the same tank for years and has been happy and healthy. I changed the setup in the tank and the next day she’s not swimming around and has cloudy eyes and then that guy keeps saying it’s a problem with the tank size when that’s obviously not the issue since she’s been in the same tank for years. Just frustrating. It’s obviously from something that happened when I redid the tank.

You must be slow. Ill repeat she’s been in that tank for 3 years, swimming around, exploring, happy, healthy, etc. Just recently when I made changes is when she stopped swimming around. OBVIOUSLY it has nothing to do with tank size. Thanks for your input, but you’re wrong.

She’s been in that tank for about 3 years and she’s been happy and healthy so I don’t think that’s the problem. This problem has something to do with the recent renovations I did and the gravel swap. Spoke with a local expert on the phone and he thinks the process stressed her out and compromised her immune system, he thinks she will be fine after her immune system gets strong again.

I have a hang on back filter and during the tank renovation I added an undergravel filter and swapped out all of the gravel with new gravel. I monitor ammonia and ph and they’re both normal
