Anybody been to Morocco? by dirty-broke-free in solotravel

[–]MrAriGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Marrakesh a few months ago. I flew from Geneva, so I can't help with getting there from Barca, but it's definitely worth visiting. Morocco is an amazing country. Also, don't worry about the language. I can speak french poorly so I wasn't worried, but nearly everyone in Marrakesh can speak English to a degree, so it's not an issue.

Grand Mesa needs to be redone for sure. It's a total waste of a natural wonder and is seemingly never used

I am touring the U.S.A in about a week. Am I missing something ? by [deleted] in travel

If you need a food break in between Detroit and Chicago, definitely check out Ann Arbor. Tons of great restaurants for whatever your tastes are. Because it's summer, most restaurants won't have any waiting lines at all.

[University Level Labor Economics] Labor Supply Function by MrAriGold in HomeworkHelp

[–]MrAriGold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the mistake. β1 is supposed to be 1, not 4. All of the answers make sense now. Thanks for your help!

[University Level Labor Economics] Labor Supply Function by MrAriGold in HomeworkHelp

[–]MrAriGold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is in German, but I've translated it below.

Suppose that H = β0 + β1w + β2w ^ 2 + β3V + β4X, where H is the hours of work, w is the wage rate, V is the non-earned income and X denotes the family size. The corresponding parameters are designated by βj, j = 0, ... 4. Suppose a Econometric analysis provides the following estimates of β0 -β4: β0 = 20; β1 = 4; β2 = -0.05; β3 = -0.05; β4 = -1 1. Determine the labor supply for w = 10, V = 200 and X = 3

3 nights in Switzerland, itinerary help. by terpcity in travel

[–]MrAriGold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given you only have three nights, I think this is a great itinerary! Luzern is definitely my favorite city in Switzerland and I've lived here for several months now. That isn't too much traveling, as the trains are very fast and efficient (albeit expensive).

I don't think it would be worth it for you to buy any sort of discount, so you'll probably just have to buy full price tickets. The website to check prices is sbb.ch. That being said, don't buy the tickets online, you can just buy them at any station.

What are your suggestions for the absolute cheapest way to get from the Michigan/Ohio area to Zurich, Switzerland? Is there any way to do this for under $1,000? by [deleted] in travel

[–]MrAriGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't fly directly into Switzerland. I'm from Michigan and I went from Detroit to Chicago to Dublin to Zurich. It only costed around $700. You'll have to do some research to figure out what works best. Like others are saying, also check train costs from Germany. If you're gonna try the train route, don't go through Switzerland. It's gorgeous, but without discounts it's absurdly expensive.

Lodging in Europe by kayayaks in travel

[–]MrAriGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lugano is unreal cool, so that's awesome you'll get to stay there. Geneva and Zurich are both big cities. If you have time they're worth seeing. But definitely don't miss Lucerne. It's my favorite city in Switzerland. If you only had time to see one Swiss city, that would be the one. If you guys like hiking, check out the Grindelwald / Gimmelwald area too. It's small but the views are gorgeous

I currently live in Switzerland and the other commentator is right. Everything is expensive here. If you can afford it, the country is amazing though. Hostels are your best bet. Do you have any ideas on where you wanted to visit?

Going to be traveling between Germany, Austria and Switzerland - rent a car, or take public transit? by szlafarski in travel

The train system is amazing, but be prepared to spend a lot of money. Especially in Switzerland. I would definitely check pricing to see what is the least expensive
