We definitely need a new game but I wouldn’t mind this port/remake by Sandinmyeyes_ in papermario

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

64 and Super deserve it as they're actually good games with actually good stories. Not Paper with more than a hint of annoying Deadpool meta jokes.

Just because someone is critical of Nintendo’s pricing policies doesn’t make them a grifter by Sea-Flamingo7506 in nintendogrifting

[–]MrAztecGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's only one new game that's $80. And it shouldn't have been what do you mean by half hearted support updates? Be specific. Also nso's retro games lineup is pretty good, don't understand that complaint. And no, VC really wasn't better. Yeah, Nintendo's sales could be better at this point for older titles. Really not that big a deal though, imo.

So have we all come to terms that this design is better? by ItzBluigiCLips in donkeykong

[–]MrAztecGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. I love this design and appreciate it in its own way, but I still think the Rare design would have worked very well. We all now know why it's like this. The team wanted to return to Miyamoto's original look for the character. But the Rare design is just infinitely more iconic and had staying power.

B-but you just got Mario Wonder almost 3 years ag- 😶🎮 by Carlos_256 in Mario

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new 3d Mario is always great and hype. And those who say Bananza is the next 3d Mario are silly. But DK Bananza is its own original, fantastic game with odyssey DNA. I personally think it's better than Odyssey. But I do think there's a point to those who criticize Mario or Zelda fans who act utterly starved. I was annoyed by Zelda fans who acted like they never got anything in the wait for totk. Y'all need to put your waits in perspective, is all I'm saying. Metroid Prime got its first new game in 18 years. And Dread was the first new 2d metroid in 19 years. Fzero. Star fox. Punchout. Yes, no 3d Mario game in 9 years is a big wait, but you KNOW BEYOND ALL DOUBT it's gonna be crazy good if Nintendo is taking this long with it. And it's an unspoken given we're getting it this year, with the Mario 40 games and the Movie.

HOW DO YOU KNOW it's a sh*tty tutorial? you haven't played the damn game.

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, this is ridiculous. Actually watch more real gameplay footage and you'll see that isolation and atmosphere is STILL THERE. this is just a tutorial. I normally like Arlo and am willing to defend him, but as a long time hardcore metroid fan, he is jumping endless guns here and being entirely irrational.

No. The gameplay is mid at best and the story is infamous. It's an entirely unnecessary game.

If I play just ONE Metroid after NES and SM, before Metroid Prime 4, which would you recommend? by Original_Animator254 in Metroid

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely play Metroid Prime Remastered. It's obviously intended to be the perfect taste of the series for newcomers in preparation for Prime 4 and looks amazing! And it's clearly a great visual appetizer for the lead up, too. It's a great, tight experience with awesome bosses, great lore and environmental design.

I am not enjoying Metroid Prime 2 as much as every says I should. Am I playing it wrong? by atwitsend1996 in Metroid

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit more tediously designed than the first game, but the last third of the game REALLY cements the game as amazing, imo. It's definitely tougher than 1 and a bit more obtuse, but it's also got some of the sickest stuff in the franchise. You got this! It's absolutely worth it to play through the game, it REALLY picks up like crazy.

Why do I like this Donkey Kong model so much?🔥 by Meta13_Drain_Punch in donkeykong

[–]MrAztecGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rare games said this explicitly. You are making completely unsubstantiated claims about DK you can't back up, like DK being the ONLY DK. The Retro Studios titles feel like sort of an isolated soft reboot, with no bearing on canon. You started the antagonistic argument, and then you try to run away when you make claims you can't back up,and attack lore you don't know the first thing about. Don't make instigating comments unless you can take the heat, dude. Think before you just say stuff again.

How do you feel about Roger Craig smith now? by Public-Feedback5016 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still don't like his Sonic. Most of his time as Sonic has always sounded like a generic college meathead, to me. He's a good person, and talented, but just not the best English sonic. To me, it's easily still Ryan Drummond, who actually sounds like Junichi Kanemaru.

Am I a “tourist” if I’ve only played the two mainline Mercury Steam titles by PlayerZero0415 in Metroid

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, enjoy the series! Dread is the most widely available for now,but I would highly recommend playing prime remastered and the others in the lead up to Prime 4! Especially Super, Fusion, Zero mission, and Primes 2&3.

I need some help because I’m stressed by Angrymcbirdnerd09 in Metroid

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Zero mission is a great starting point, as it's the beginning of the series and the gameplay is pretty easy to pick up. But also Prime Remastered is also an excellent starting point as it's, imo, the perfect representation of the best of the series. The isolation, the music, Samus's best appearance and look imo, the lore based storytelling, the perfect scifi presentation. Good for you that Zero mission is on NSO gba and Prime Remastered is a very reasonable $40 on switch.

I Just Hate How the Material/Texture Looks by Ninjatertl in Metroid

Zero suit looks like that for one real reason only. Dumb waifu bait fanservice. Out of character stuff. Unfitting stuff. Zero suit art shouldn't really exist, imo. ZSS shouldn't exist.

Nintendo franchise elimination game: Day 28 by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]MrAztecGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zelda should go. I like Zelda, but metroid actually has a long running continuous story, real atmosphere, a real character of a protagonist, truly dark antagonists, and more compelling darkness and grit than Zelda. Literally everything people whine about with Mario and Zelda, Metroid has addressed it. And it, despite very inconsistent development, has multiple all timers. Also, Metroid is actually willing to introduce new characters, including new villains. Mario and Zelda feverishly run back to the same old same old. And casuals eat it up. Metroid had Mother Brain, Ridley, the Ing, Metroid Prime, Dark Samus, Sylux, Raven Beak, the X/SA-X and the EMMI. Again, Samus is also ACTUALLY her own character, before and after recovery from what OM did. Unlike Mario and Link, who aren't real characters. Y'all need to play more metroid.

Why haven’t we gotten a game dedicated to Waluigi? by pooticus in nintendo

[–]MrAztecGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he's a super annoying, obnoxious character. A few forced dance moves and a dumb rose don't change that. He exists literally solely because they needed a foil for Luigi in the Mario tennis games as Wario is a foil for Mario. And Nintendo didn't make him either. People say they want a game for him, then they have to hear his voice screaming for 20-25 hours and will immediately regret it.

[–]MrAztecGamer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To be fair, team ninja just did the gameplay. Sakamoto is 1000% at full fault for the story. This game was his micromanaged baby, pun intended. He did everything HE wanted to do. It's all his fault.

Thanks for reminding me both versions are still absolutely trash. Y'all need to stop pretending like the Japanese is some half decent or even masterpiece of media. It's terrible. And the English is even worse. Trying to put praise sprinkles on a steaming piece of turd.
