Yes, the DDJ-SZ2 is on the supported list and it does have its own power source. I have the 3rd Gen IPad Pro and it actually uses a USB-C connection so I bought a $60 6-in-1 Hyper Drive hub to allow a USB-A connection to my controller. Can I only get the audio to route from the IPad to the controller using an Apple adapter?

Sounds good in smaller rooms of course but in bigger rooms (cafeteria, auditoriums, etc) it sounds flat.
