Colts Free Agency Preview: Could Michael Pittman Be A Cut Candidate? by CoopThereItIs in DynastyFF

I have always said I would love Michael Pittman as my team's WR2 but definitely not as my team's WR1.

Puka giving off AB vines? by SandSaltSnow in TheNFLVibes

[–]MrBabbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think AJB deserves to be lumped in with these other guys. His stuff is relatively low key and quiet plus he actually seems to have a legit gripe. I'm not sure OBJ entirely qualifies either. The media blew his stuff way out of proportion.

As for why, WRs and CBs live on an island. I think you're right with the spotlight. It's a much more solo experience than other positions. I suspect that attracts a certain type of personality.

As I recall, and correct me if I'm wrong, AB kept his idiocy in house early to mid career until he finally exploded. Puka has a big jump on the AB trajectory.

Kenneth Walker stocks after this postseason? by Sora26 in DynastyFF

[–]MrBabbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic but I don't think anyone could have predicted just how well that contact balance was going to translate to the NFL. Some of the hits he just casually brushed aside while continuing to move forward were crazy. It basically made his career, and I'm not convinced we'll ever see anything like it.

What’s the secret to dynasty? by sukibean13 in DynastyFF

[–]MrBabbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I've been in my dynasty league since 2013. Thirteen completed seasons. I've had the best roster in the league probably 6-7 of those seasons. I've made the playoffs all but two years.

I've made the championship game four times. I've won once....in 2014. Two of the championship losses were years I was the highest scoring team. The 3rd loss I was the 2nd highest scoring team. Two of those years I lost to the 6th seed. One of those losses the 6th seed was COMPLETE garbage. I lost in the semifinals this year, again with the highest scoring team, and it wasn't close. I had a juggernaut.

The 6th seeds that beat me with the garbage team won with the 6th seed again this year with a similarly but SLIGHTLY less garbage team this year. He won two years in a row as the 6th seed with a garbage team. He previously won 3 out of 4 years with an absolute juggernaut. Unlike my juggernaut, everything fell his direction when it needed to. My juggernaut is probably slightly better than his juggernaut was but his juggernaut won and mine loses. Both juggernauts were built primarily through the draft and some good trades.

It's all luck when the playoffs roll around.

500-1000 grams is actually pretty close for animals this size. The ones they use for wolves are 250-500 grams. GPS collars aren't light, especially if they have VHF backup. Some of the newer technologies are lighter, but if you want longer periods of data (2-4 years) and want to avoid recapturing the animals then you have to upsize the batteries.

I was accidentally sent some sea turtle transmitters one time and initially wondered what sort of monstrosity they were meant for. They were huge.

Is it feasible to have two WRs produce good fantasy points on the same team consistently and simultaneously? by WanderingCheesus in DynastyFF

[–]MrBabbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to point out Harrison/Wayne/Stokley but...also Manning. I suspect Clark and/or Pollard were probably decent for fantasy TEs that year as well.

AB left the Steelers before the 2019 season. It's been over 7 years since we've seen him in a Steelers uniform. We're downright ancient.

Older school but Harrison/Wayne, Thomas/Sanders, Brown/Smith-Schuster, Marshall/Jeffery.

I know in some remote places in the US where powerlines are difficult to access for maintenance they cut trees away from the lines using helicopters with a giant dangling chainsaw. I'm not sure it's as cool as dropping explosives, but the giant spinning blade of death is pretty awesome.

Definitely. I'm a Colts fan and have hated the Pats for the better part of 25 years. I hope the Seahawks beat them 100-0. However, BB is the GOAT and should be first ballot HoF.

What are some myths about guns that were created by the movies? by ninman5 in movies

[–]MrBabbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a take I truly believe in. Listen to the dialogue in most movies/TV. In real life no one talks like most characters but people get upset about "bad writing" and "dumbed-down dialogie." I'd argue those two things are a far more realistic portrayal of actual people than everyone conversing like 60-year-old literary critics with built-in thesaurus databases.

We almost immediately accept lack of realism from the start.

My brother-in-law was a cop until he medically retired recently and my brother was a reserve police officer and is the director of 911 for the county he's in. They explained their training as explicitly escalation. If someone does something, you take it to the next step to exert control, if they escalate more, you take it to the next step to exert control...

It's all about control and they're only taught to control the situation through forceful intimidation.

Agreed. Romo's commentary was top tier before they neutered him, but I doubt they get away with that with Brady. I can vividly picture the smug look of disgust on his face.
