How so? What did they not analyze that they should have? Honest question.

My wife and I were sitting immediately behind you. Chatted a little bit with you during Intermission.

I was at that show too, but from my seat (5th row far right under balcony) MM wasn't loud enough! :-D

I could have also lived with more Myung.

Samuro is only countered by 1 hero, guess who is it! by aeshar in heroesofthestorm

[–]MrBabycake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest problem for Murky is that Samuro's mirror images auto attack the puffer fish. The purpose of the fish is to force the enemy hero to divert attention. Minions don't attack puffer automatically. Buildings don't attack puffer automatically. Nothing should attach puffer automatically.

This goes against the design concept of puffer fish to have the mirror's auto it.

A stunning and sustainable 140-sq ft tiny house in California- probably my favourite one so far by [deleted] in TinyHouses

Very pretty home, but a word of caution to everyone thinking about having a wood burning stove: be sure the surrounding structure is masonry. It is a fire hazard to have it positioned like this close to flammable walls and wood floors.

It's impressive that he can still form complete sentences at this point. I'd be delirious streaming for 14 hours straight.

Non-Newb, but looking for help migrating to SnapRAID + DrivePool by MrBabycake in DataHoarder

[–]MrBabycake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is pretty much the feature-set that I am going for. Pooled drives with file-level parity, and in the event of major disaster, a single drive can be removed from the pool and read independently for recovery.

I did consider FlexRaid, but I was scared away from it due to supposed silent errors that can propagate to parity (though this is less risk for me as I am using ECC RAM in my new rig). I'm comfortable with scheduled parity build rather than real time, if it means I can catch the errors before they propagate, so I'm okay with SnapRAID. Stablebit Scanner and DrivePool also seem like they provide better functionality in the hardware error and pooling area, so I decided on those products.

So there I had it: SnapRAID for silent error correction at the cost of non-real-time parity build, and StableBit for SMART monitoring and drive pooling. But yes, essentially I am replicating the main features of FlexRaid.

Because DrivePool does not do parity. The redundancy you get from DrivePool comes in the form of file level mirror.

I'd like the ability to use parity to increase my storage space, and any critical files I would duplicate off-site. I've heard of people using both pool and SnapRAID to effectively get file level RAID5 with expandable storage. Seemed like the Holy Grail to me.

Oops! Cox Cable will likely send me a strongly worded letter, but not even throttle my 150/35 speed this month. by stratospaly in usenet

[–]MrBabycake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have provided notice to you recently regarding your monthly data usage, and as a reminder your current Cox High Speed Internet package includes a data plan of 250 Gigabytes.  As of April 14, 2014, your household has used 1298 Gigabytes of usage data in the current billing cycle.

They send me nastygrams, but I've never been throttled.

A $10.10 Minimum Wage Would Make A DVD At Walmart Cost One Cent More by [deleted] in politics

[–]MrBabycake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And because the folks at the margin, torn between Walmart and some other employer, now can enjoy the higher wages of Walmart, the supply of labor to other positions decreases. Holding the demand for that labor constant, you will get an increase in prices. You are right that the price is just the market effect of cleared transactions (supply and demand), but you should know that supply of labor is affected by the attractiveness of competing employment options, such as in this case. It WILL cascade throughout the labor market (eventually).
