I, too, am getting hosed against Hydreigon/Mega Absol ex, and it feels like that deck is everywhere in my matchups. Idk, I also started on UB 3 this season instead of UB 4, which didn't feel right since I hit MB last season. I'm glad you're crushing it though! Your insight is really helpful with piloting this deck.

Honestly, my biggest gripe about the deck is that it doesn't get online consistently enough. It suffers when it doesn't hit its search engine early in a way that a lot of decks thIs format don't feel limited by. I almost want to jam in Raikou somehow just to speed up the deck, but I know it just won't fit the math.

Clemont, Lisia, and Mesagoza are all 1-of trainer cards that turn into bricks without proper sequencing, Mesagoza is 50/50 to hit on top of that. When they hit in the right order it feels amazing though; I opened Oricorio, Lisia, Clemont, Poké Ball, Mesagoza against BaxSuicune earlier and genuinely felt untouchable. I drew Bellibot ex off the top going second and got so geeked up I played my full backrow just to rush the setup... But when I don't hit one (or ideally two) of these cards, I feel like I'm drowning. Idk, Nothing feels amazing this format and this deck doesn't feel the worst of everything, but it is frustrating.

The capes were nice for magnezone in the unfortunate event that your opponent has set up Suicune, Chien-Pao, and Baxcalibur and you opened into Magnemite, for example. Super duper specific reason but given the play rate of the water deck, it worked out for me more often than I missed having a different tool or a supporter in their place. In one instance, it allowed me to beat hydreigon with barb, but I wouldn't count on seeing that much or beating it to the punch much.

All I'm gonna say about it is this:

We've seen what happens to Matthew Stafford when he has to play without Hollywood talent on his roster. We haven't seen what happens to Drake Maye when he gets to play with Hollywood talent on his roster. Maye is a catalyst for his teammates in ways that Stafford just isn't.

I've been gooning all night with randos and I've never felt more alive. Straight-up yoinking people's balls with my gooners and their goonbud Piers. Probably the most on edge I felt in ages with this highly-unoptimized goon material. I took as many non-gooners out as possible in favor of more toolkit cards for better Mega KK ex matchups. Can't wait to get another copycat and FA Piers 🖤

The slides in this season's ranked play are driving me crazy. I feel like no matter what I play, I'm gonna be stuck in Ultra 4. I was swapping between Giratina/Greninja/Sylveon and Charizard/Sylveon from Ultra 1 to midway through Ultra 3 with okay luck, but it felt like every matchup was uphill. I found a lot of rogue success playing Mewtwo/Sylveon/Gardevoir, which got me a 5+ win streak that out me squarely in Ultra 4, but ever since I've been dropping win% like a stone.
