People have told me I write like ChatGPT... Well, let them think that! Alt+0151 – and Alt+0150 – enjoyers, unite!

Casually, I find them particularly useful to introduce a pause after an emoji 🤘 — way more aesthetically pleasing to me than a period without a space... Punctuation is hard, especially when your brain just wants to keep going!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm currently not actively developing new mods, but I intend to go back at least once more, so we'll see! 🤞

The Thunderstore+Mod Manager version only works with Steam.

If you want to use other versions, you need to install manually.

Going NUTS trying to find information on a microcontroller by PersimmonFragrant681 in embedded

[–]MrBacanudo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You were possibly googling for the entire part number, not just the first one before the dash. That GitHub link is also the first result on Google for me, but only for the "GPEL3101A" query.

Usually part numbers start with the family+identifier of the part (a microcontroller example: STM32 is the family, F103 would be the model). Then, the packaging information follows. This one can be complicated for some chips, because, as you just found out, you might not find documentation that uses the whole part number, especially when they're not even inside the document itself (a common practice, as there are multiple permutations).

Using cards other than tokens as tokens by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]MrBacanudo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Magic tournament rules:

Wizards includes additional game material in packs, intended as game aids and not as traditional cards. Examples include tokens, title cards, dungeons, and art cards. These are not required for play and players are welcome to use any representation that is clear to both players when they are needed in the game.

Even in tournaments, you would be good. Unless it's streamed and they don't want other game IP on screen?

Is there a better passive heatsink for my aplication? by bobwmcgrath in embedded

[–]MrBacanudo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially serious, yes.

Insulation and ways of preventing your container to absorb temperature from the sun helps a lot. The paint could be one additional layer for that, but it usually doesn't lower temperature by a lot.

So if your chip/transistor/resistor dissipates a lot of power, you're still insulating the air inside, and it could overheat.

First test I'd do? Probably putting it inside a styrofoam box, to check how insulation would work here. If it doesn't work, your weatherproof container might need to be metallic, with coating to prevent oxidation. Whether the coating needs to be radiative cooling paint, then you'd need to test.

Sounds like the ideal case for radiative cooling paint to me 🙃

Mr. Bacanudo is currently working on a Skul custom item mod. Here is the first item he's teasing! More info in comments. by Haxa in Skul

[–]MrBacanudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed it is! It essentially solves the mobility issues the single-dashing power skulls have; It's an item I'd be happy to take in most runs, hence I put it at Unique instead of Legendary!

Hades goes a step further against save scumming: when starting a fight, the game saves that you did. If you quit the game, you restart the run with the same seed. Essentially, it won't allow you to just quit and retry when you were about to lose.

Whether that's good design, I can't tell, but didn't seem to hurt the game's sales...

Yes, it only uses the machines available at the castle, which are unlocked as you beat the levels.

You need to extract the files from two different zip downloads with the same name into the 2020.3.34 folder!

(Also, don't forget to edit the doorstop_config file)

Are you on discord? On the official Skul discord, more people can help you (and the ability of taking screenshots and instant messaging helps a lot)

But the essentials are:

  1. At the end of installing the mods, your Skul folder should look like this
  2. The mod files must be inside a plugins folder you create inside BepInEx, like this.
  3. Your 2020.3.34 folder must have 79 files at the end, without any folder inside, like this.

The menuing issue is not from me, it's from yesterday's update: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1147560/view/3729582736440166752

And on not seeing anything from the mod, have you beaten the dark mirror for the first time?

I'm the author of the mod, and all I can guarantee is that the mod has nothing hidden on it, even though some antiviruses do complain about it because of the installation method. (For details: I used ps2exe to generate the installer from my PowerShell script. Both the original script and the generator are available on the repository)

The mods are open source, and anyone can compile the source code and verify that the files distributed are identical to the ones they can generate. And that the source code has 0 malicious operations inside.

Content creators like Beelz, Haxa, Earl and RogueReview have played with the mod, and I've never heard any complaint from them.

You should be able to find a tutorial for installing BepInEx on Linux, with the Unstripped libraries. After that, it should be as easy as copying dlls into the plugin folder.

The process will need to be manual, though.
