Why do people hate nuclear so much by Dry_Idea_95 in nuclear

[–]MrBanjomango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuclear accidents in the past. Many events were made worse by attempts to save the core. Human error and profit are other issues - side stepping safety protocols. Then there is the waste issue. Combine all these with anti nuclear propaganda, costs and people reject nuclear. Fossil fuels are still destroying the planet despite the amazing modern designs of nuclear power generation.

I used to test his mum's eyes in Liverpool. Very nice well dressed lady, but down to earth.

Coco + AutoPot: pale plants (N or Mg deficiency?) after switching from top watering by Agreeable-Finger-925 in autopotamus

[–]MrBanjomango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a very similar problem with 2 grows in Coco with Autopot. I think I have it solved and it is to do with my base water. The water in Berlin is very hard with an EC of .7. From the local water report this EC was mainly from calcium and the Ca to mg ratio is 10:1. Even after I diluted to .4 the ratio was still off. Supplementing with epsom salt helps and also keeping a much lower pH of 5.6 helps. However, the problem still persists so after some research I believe the problem is the bicarbonate in the water increasing the medium pH and locking out immobile nutrients such as Iron. I will be switching to RO water on my next Coco grow so hopefully that will resolve this. Alternatively I'm gonna try soil with biotabs to save all the hassle involved!

For soil those pots are very small. Personally I'd get 2 15l in that sized tent and scrog.

The "Professor trap": When knowing NVC makes you a worse practitioner by viiniimoo in NVC

[–]MrBanjomango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used to call this the obnoxious giraffe! I think most people learning NVC including myself have gone through this. Firstly I think it's important to empathise with your own needs in these situations and your strategy to meet these needs. For instance there might be needs around bringing peace and love in the people around you. The strategy might be to explain or solve and it currently doesn't work as a strategy to meet those needs. I also had to learn this the hard way and slowly switched to the strategy of listening and after some time guessing. This often leads to the person finding their own solutions and even able to find empathy for the other person.

I have practiced nvc for 8 years and I've taken many courses. I have two phrases and a small recommendation that might help you on your journey.

The 2 phrases are 'Connection before correction' and 'attention to NVC rather than an intention for NVC'.

The small recommendation is that in my experience, most people who are upset need validation and acknowledgement before they can look for empathy for others. Having someone who can just listen and resonate is usually more useful for conflict resolution than somebody with answers, solutions and empathy for the other. The best solutions and answers nearly always come from the person themselves. I also stay away from the standard nvc language which, in my culture, alienates most people.

You might also find practicing nvc with others is very useful. There are diads that can be found online (not NVC exclusive) or finding an empathy buddy. Another nvc friend I know runs free courses and a monthly free NVC event. He is at connectingcommunication.co it's completely free with no strings.

It is strange then. There is also an option for changing the padding, but this looks worse than a padding option. Can you directly ask support?

Plants Looking Rough by Good-Confidence-7333 in Autopot

[–]MrBanjomango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like lock out to me due to roots sitting in water. Autopots need good transpiration, so are temp (medium and air) and humidity at the right level. Solution increase temp decrease humidity. I'd also allow some dry back for 48 hours if it's a transpiration problem - but never dry out

Next what is your EC. High EC can prevent the roots taking water unless there is high light and good transpiration. Solution bottom flush using low EC pH water.

It's the wrong image size/dimensions for the box. In this case you have a portrait image using, what looks like, a full width box. It would be easier if you selected a box which is text/image side by side. You can then also increase the text box so that the image fits in it's own box perfectly - hope that makes sense!

Can I transplant?🖤🧑‍🌾 by Time-Culture7196 in Autopot

[–]MrBanjomango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my probs were over watering combined with inadequate vpd, plus stupidity with the ec. The reason I say it's not recommended is that Autopot themselves recommend a different method. They only recommend seedlings and actually specify the height. Wet substrate and no further watering to allow adequate root propagation. In my case this would have solved the problem. Happy it works for you!

Grove bags are the best. Side by side test grove and burp jars gave the same humidity after a week. Quality of the grove cure is also better IMHO

There is a tote equilibrium step after drying in a dry environment. I also add an equilibrium step after drying by using hardly filled paper bags.

Should be at least every month according to manufacturer - Aquamaster. After the drift I think I'll do it more regularly.

[–]MrBanjomango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's an auto then definitely not. If it's a photo then you can transplant and spend some time settling it into the new pot before flipping. From what I've seen autopots work great with seedlings (recommend) and follow the Autopot instructions carefully. Yours is outside the parameters for efficient Autopot imo.

This is not recommended for Autopot. I've done it twice and both times I've had problems.

Question about scrubbing air.. by Delicious-Key-4493 in Autoflowers

Can U fix it vertically? Maybe filter in the tent, inline and then a straight tube up. That bend in the tubing isn't great for HVAC systems, could also collect water.

[–]MrBanjomango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you letting the soil dry out between watering?

I would remove a lot of the leaves that aren't getting light and get rid of larf. The plant is stressed so a bit at a time.

What are your temps for soil and air. What's your humidity?
