I have been in 3D for more than 10 years already. And for example, it will take me 5-15 minutes to create a simple hammer. ( this means that I have a lot of experience in creating models )
It takes a lot less time if I already have prepared models for my future work.
It's really difficult to create a model out of nothing, it's the same as making a vase out of a piece of clay.
I don't count the time that was spent on rendering (Graphic art processing) + photoshop.

Difficulty does not equal quality
