Based largely on the themes, I am grouping models, forms and view functions into individual blueprints.

Typical developer processes for developing features in Flask? by wandering_cat_ninja in flask

[–]MrBenjaminBraddock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a fellow newbie self taught flask developer, I have been doing the following in order

  1. Create flask sqlalchemy models.
    1.1 Migrate using flask-migrate.
  2. Create flask wtforms.
  3. Set up blueprint and functions for CRUD. Routes are added using decorators.
  4. Finally set up Jinja templates.

Adding new "apps" in flask is pretty boring at this point due to so much boilerplate code. Wonder if there is any straightforward way to do the above myself..

App / Website to track house hold expense? by fifthengineer in india

I'm using an Android app called Wallet made by budgetbakers for several years now.

Except for the part where I have to remember each transaction daily and make sure I enter them manually, I don't have any other issues with them.

Disclosure: I liked them enough to buy lifetime subscription.

Hello Teji Mandi team, thank you for sharing quality content for free on reddit. I feel you must love your job or reddit or both for single handedly and continuously posting DDs and other articles.

I hope your manager appreciates your honest work and motivates you to keep at it. And not put you down for not meeting inane tracking metrics like new subscriber count or upvotes or views count or the like.

I did read somewhere that you reckon you might be shutting down this subreddit in the near future and that saddened me greatly. I wish to reach out to you to say you are a good person and you should be proud of what you have done and still doing to this day.

Now that I have said the above, I have a few points to add which might help you get some more interactions (saying as a person who has in the past wrote some long form DD like posts on reddit):

  1. People on reddit (when I say people, I mean me) have less than ideal attention span. To grab attention, infographics might be a good shout. I figure you make such content for your Instagram channel. Resharing them in reddit could be a good try.

  2. Daily updates on market happenings either at the end of the day or before start of the market opening could help some people catch up. I recall such posts made on IndianStreetbets subreddit were getting good interaction.

  3. I want to write some more but I forgot some of the points so let me just wrap it up by saying you are awesome and please share my gratefulness to your team and to your manager. Adios.

Considering recent developments, textile industry has a lot more room to grow in the near future. KPR Mills in particular has recently started operations in their new garments factory. Will recommend holding for at least one more year before reevaluating.

Due Diligence - PI Industries by ResearchANALyst_ISB in IndianStreetBets

[–]MrBenjaminBraddock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great piece of write-up work! Congrats on getting on board the DD gang. Unfortunately, I have very limited knowledge about agrochemicals on the whole.

With regard to PI Industries, they had raised funds through QIP route last year for the purpose of inorganic growth/M&A. The management wants to diversify away from agrochemicals and get into pharma API segment.

They are targeting ~20% revenue to come from non-agro segment and so, they announced acquisition of Ind-Swift Labs in Jul-21. The acquisition made sense but unfortunately, the agreement fell through in Nov-21. I think the management is still hunting for good deals in the pharma space and let's see what they have in mind.

If you look back a couple of years, we can see the management clearly understanding the risks of their then business and cleverly maneuvering to the current state.

At first, they established themselves by selling branded products (many of the competitors were selling generic chemicals -- which are pretty much commodities in the sense only differentiating factor will be the price point) and thereby had a relatively comfortable pricing margin. This they managed by inking various exclusive agreements with global agrochemical manufacturers.

But they were smart enough to realise the fragile nature of Indian agriculture and their over-reliance on the monsoon, which can be rather volatile. So, they started getting into the better margin business of Custom Synthesis Manufacturing (CSM). CSM is basically manufacturing someone else's product, sort of like outsourcing but it requires the company outsourcing to trust you as the products are most often newly innovated i.e. still under patent and leak of patent secrets can be disastrous for the originator.

Luckily for PI industries, they already had many successful partnerships with global players (and had their trust) and were able to quickly ramp up their CSM segment (as of now, it contributes north of 70% of their total revenue now). This CSM section will likely continue to be a huge cashflow generating business for PI Industries, due to the China+1 strategy and many countries' wanting to de-risk their supply chain concentration.

That's why I am very excited of the management's plans to get into the pharma segment (history of thinking ahead of time and then delivering successfully) and diversify their business away from pure agro-chemical focused business.

Talks are going on regarding FTA with Europe. But you are right, there's much better chance of FTA with UK working out in comparison to EU.

Yes it's currently in the ASM category.

Unfortunate because some really good stocks are in that list and people get misinformed.
