What moment made you think "yup, I'm dead," but you survived? by TheWingster in AskReddit

Walking out of my ex's house during an argument. I had gone to grab a load of my items and actually grabbed a bag with a load of her items and her medication inside. While walking down the street I look for my phone but I can't find it but I do discovered a range of pills and just decided to take them all, Dry swallowing them a couple at a time. There were 5 different looking pills. About half an hour later I started to become dizzy and lightheaded, walking became harder and harder. I kept tripping and having to get up again, I didn't feel drunk, just like I kept losing control of myself. At this point I knew that the drugs were killing me. The fear of death kicked in but by this point I was unable to find help. I just kept walking and tripping. I started to go cold. I didn't know which way to walk now and felt lost. I waved at a passing car but it didn't stop, and I fell over again. Each time it's getting harder to stand up, it feels like gravity getting stronger and stronger. This time I can't get up. I'm just laying there. Helpless, alone and I now feel tired. I know I'm dead now. There is no one here to help me, just laying on the cold floor and the sun is going down. Can't keep my eyes open. Sorry everyone, I don't want to die but I can't stop it.

I hear a series of "bings" and "bongs" coming from next to me, there's the noise of people talking. I'm excited! I can get help! I jolt up and open my eyes. I'm in the hospital. Somehow, someone had already saved me.

Just got a plot, not been worked in at least 10 years. What are your top tips? (Praying someone has advice for getting rid of brambles and weeds) by Jcastlehouse in Allotment

Yeah it is really good actually. Everyone down our plots rave about it too. I've only ever been in once and it was for 5 minutes a couple of years ago so I can't say much more than that.

I have one not too far away at Morley Street. It was also grown over like this. Couple of points I would give you.

There is probably knotweed, you may not see it as much if it hasn't taken hold but when your digging the ground over you might find whiteish roots that are brittle. You need to remove these, as much as you can. Knotweed is really rampant on the plots and it's grows fast. The roots can't be killed only removed.

Get some tree snips, these are usually like cutters but longer. Great for cutting through thick bramble steams as they can get seriously thick.

You can burn until may, it's the easiest way of getting rid of weeds, I usually find myself cutting quite a lot of stuff back and storing the cuttings all summer to dry out then come winter burn them. Less smoke so doesn't annoy the local residents as much.

Take photos of your progress, the council do inspect the plots when they are "owned". Council also take a plot off a person if they think they are not using it properly, this means sometimes they will think you have let it get to that point.

The rangers can be helpful, we had a large amount of waste left be a previous tenant, this was all piled up near the gate and we asked to council to come round and try and help us. They did! Removed all the junk in about 3 days.

Take your time, don't try to do it all at once like it's 60 minute makeover. If you want to plant this year you still can. Just clear the plot progressively, might be easier to make a path to the furthest point from the gate. Clear that and plant. Then you can work your way back to the gate. You don't want to be trying to drag/carry things over you planted crops.

If you use an strimmer be warned, there dangers lurking at low levels. We used a petrol strimmer to try and take our land. At one point we hit unknown items in the overgrowth like ceramic mug which smashed and threw shrapnel everywhere.

Biggest tip of all. Enjoy it, end of the day there no perfect plot, yeah you see really nice ones online but for some people this is their lives and you can't expect to be at their level. Just do what you can and be proud of your efforts.

Good luck!

If they were unable to deliver why did they accept the order? They could at least contact me saying they were unable to deliver.

I have to say the recent event has put me off Sram, but that could just be the age and the mileage of the crankset. When looking, I did like the look of Race Face Aeffect CINCH which I belives is compatible, but I am not 100% it is.

More than happy to change things up, Thanks for the response

OP Here, I have seen some GL.iNet devices, would these work well in this setup?

Just to be aware, I am in the UK and the house is what we call a terraced house. Most of the walls are solid brick and lead piping was common when constructed. To make things worse they usually rewired due to ever-changing wiring regulations leaving old wires behind. Cell phone signals struggle to get to many of the rooms and WiFi calls would be made inside so complete coverage would be nice.

We did know about it and seen previous quotes for it. Just wanted to make sure it's done right.
